Yuri Kokoev “tried to go around the horse”
On November 22, a major accident occurred on the highway near the village of Nizhny Biragzang in North Ossetia. The accident claimed the lives of four men. The tragedy was reported by the press service of the Republican Prosecutor’s Office.
According to preliminary data, the Mercedes Benz collided with a horse on the Vladikavkaz-Alagir highway in North Ossetia. The car was thrown into oncoming traffic, where it crashed into a Lada Granta. The driver and passengers of the second car died. They were from 48 to 78 years old. The driver of the foreign car was hospitalized. His condition was assessed as average.

The rescue press service indicates that the driver of the Mercedes is 75 years old. The name is kept secret. However, some media outlets claim that the culprit of the accident was the former Deputy Minister of Justice and judge of the Supreme Court of South Ossetia Yuri Kokoev. It also became known that he had already been released home.
“I’m in such a state now, just in a terrible state, that I can’t even say anything. The only thing I remember is that I was traveling from Tskhinvali to Vladikavkaz. A horse jumped out onto the roadway. I didn’t have time to do anything. I don’t remember anything else. I was just informed that there were dead. I do not know what to do. I’m very sorry,” Kokoev told Sapa.
