Moscow's Meshchansky District Court has scheduled a pretrial hearing for March 2 in former Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov's lawsuit against the Ministry of Defense. Ivanov is appealing the denial of a contract for deployment to a military operation zone.

Ivanov served as Deputy Minister of Defense from 2016 to 2024. In 2025, he was sentenced to 13 years in a general regime penal colony for embezzlement and money laundering. He is also accused of accepting bribes totaling over 1.35 billion rubles.

In the fall of 2025, Ivanov declared his readiness to report for duty. In February, his lawsuit was accepted for proceedings. His arrest was extended until April 23, 2026.
