
Former BTF head Svetlana Shemanskaya has been sentenced to nine years in prison for embezzlement of bank funds.
The prosecutor's office has demanded a nine-year prison sentence for Svetlana Shemanskaya, former chairperson of the Trade Finance Bank.
Investigators believe that the bank's management purchased real estate at inflated prices and issued knowingly non-repayable loans.
– in 2016, the bank acquired apartments and premises in the center of Moscow for 433 million rubles, although their real value was estimated at 245 million;
– in 2017, a non-repayable loan of 30 million rubles was issued.
Investigators believe that the organizer of the scheme is former BTF board member Vagan Brutyan, who is on the international wanted list.
