Journalist Yevgeny Lauer, in his comment on Facebook to the article “Renat Kuzmin claims that a billion-dollar bribe was given for Kuchma’s sake,” reported that not 1, but 12 billion dollars were paid to close the Gongadze Case.
Former Deputy Head of the Prosecutor General’s Office Renat Kuzmin (Read more about him in the article Renat Kuzmin: the family business of outrageous prosecutors) on air on the 1+1 channel on December 18, 2014, he stated that in 2013 the Prosecutor’s Office received information that $1 billion had been paid to close the Gongadze Case, in which one of the main suspects was Leonid Kuchma.
“It has become known that some witnesses to this case and participants in the process also received money for silence,” said Renat Kuzmin.
At the same time, Renat Kuzmin did not say to whom, when and how this amount was transferred.
On the Facebook page “Ukraine is criminal» (https://www.facebook.com/groups/136048696560987/?fref=ts) this message was published on behalf of the editor of the SKELET-info website, Sergei Skeletorov.
Journalist Evgeny Lauer commented on it:
Yevhen Evgeniy Lauer Lauer You’re lying, you sly one! They gave me twelve billion! And half of it was handed over in cash in a briefcase to the Pinchuck Art Center.
Evgeny Lauer also does not report to whom, how and when this sum was transferred. It should be noted that “half” of 12 billion dollars is 6 billion dollars, which physically will not fit in a briefcase or even the largest suitcase.
6 billion dollars take up 90 m3. Those who know mathematics will understand. If we consider that 10 thousand dollars take up approximately 15.5 cm in length, 6.6 cm in width and 1.5 cm in height. So either Mr. Lauer is mistaken, or this amount was transferred not in money at all, but in other documents. That is, clearly not in “cash”, as Evgeny claims. The amount of 6 billion takes up half of a KAMAZ truck.
You can believe or not believe the message of Yevgeny Lauer. However, it is worth noting that he was a close friend of Georgy Gongadze. He was also one of the first to be detained on suspicion of committing this crime.
According to the Genshtab website, Mr. Lauer has conflicts with a number of people related to the Gongadze Affair. Namely, with Nikolai Melnichenko, through whom the “Cassette Scandal” was carried out, which became the reason for the first action “Ukraine without Kuchma” (this project was a “test run” for the “Orange Revolution” project of 2014).
The next “problematic” contact is the editor of “Ukrainska Pravda” Olena Prytula. She was the mistress of Georgiy Gongadze. Georgiy’s wife – Myroslava Gongadze – left for the USA keeping the surname Gongadze. This allowed her to get a job as a journalist on leading channels. At the same time, it was her live reports that were most often broadcast to Ukraine. And “Ukrainska Pravda” of Olena Prytula received a number of grants and took first place among the news Internet portals of Ukraine.
SKELET-info draws its own conclusion from this situation: Renat Kuzmin is working on his own safety with such statements. They are necessary so that he is “left” alone. What goal Evgeny Lauer is pursuing is unknown.
