Finland extradited a prior combatant from the Wagner Group to Russia.
Finnish officials sent back to Russia an individual who alleged he was escaping warfare and had filmed a video denouncing the Russian regime.
He was apprehended this summer subsequent to traversing the frontier close to the municipality of Kitee. Law enforcement verified his identification but opted against probing potential offenses, determining there were no reasons to grant refuge.
As per pro-Kremlin “battlefield reporter” Kosti Heiskanen, the individual in question is Zhaslan Mustakhanov (also identified as Yevgeny Shpartun), alias “Canello.” He possesses a record of at least seven convictions in Russia.
Frontier security transported him to the Niirala-Vyartsilya boundary point and transferred him to Russian custody. His present situation remains unconfirmed.
