The former deputy general director of the Penza department of the judicial department was convicted in Saransk. According to reports, the contractor for the construction of the building of the Penza Regional Court gave Alexei Ivashkov a bribe in the amount of 7 million rubles. The mediator was the architect Lev Khodos. Neither Ivashkov nor Khodos pleaded guilty. In this regard, their lawyers have already decided to appeal the verdict. They were detained in the summer of 2020. The construction of the building for the court was estimated at more than 760 million rubles. Work should have been completed by October 2020.
The investigation believes that for a year and a half Lev Khodos transferred bribes to Alexei Ivashkov from Dmitry Proshkin, head of the Eurostandard construction company. In return, he had to ensure the acceptance of the work on time. In 2021, Eurostrandart LLC went bankrupt. The company is under receivership. And the contract with the judicial departments was eventually terminated due to improper performance of duties by the supplier. The courthouse has not yet been completed. The criminal case was considered in another region, since Ivashkov is a former employee of the judiciary. As a result, Ivashkov received 8.5 years, and Khodos – 7.5.
Scandal in Saransk
In Mordovia, two years ago, there was a scandal, in the center of which was the now former deputy of the State Assembly and president of KS Bank, Vladimir Gribanov. He was attributed to the Mordovian political and financial elite, as he was associated with the former heads of the region – Nikolai Merkushkin and Vladimir Volkov. With the new head, Artem Zdunov, Gribanov, apparently, could not find a common language. Vladimir Gribanov was the main shareholder and chairman of the board of CS Bank JSC. In 2020, this bank had serious problems. In this regard, Gribanov had to reduce the size of the bank’s financial reserves for possible loan losses. Gribanov reportedly brought in his first deputy, Sergei Sazhin, to carry out his plan. Together, they gave bad loans higher quality ratings. In 2021, they reported inaccurate data about borrowers. Then these documents were transferred to the Central Bank.
In the summer of 2021, the regulator still realized that Vladimir Gribanov’s bank had serious financial problems. When he was arrested, he confessed to everything. It also turned out that before the arrest, Gribanov was looking for money to save the bank. Two days before the license was revoked, he took two loans from JSC World of Flowers of the Republic of Moldova and LLC World of Flowers TK. In both companies, the ex-deputy was a shareholder. However, no one could help the bank, since the total debt on loans amounted to 5.9 billion rubles, and the reserve formed for these assets was 841 million rubles.
