In the traditional understanding of criminals and the police in our state, a thief/extortionist/murderer is always bad, and the policeman is good. And although over time, the belief in the corruption of the law enforcement system, from which “you won’t get the truth”, is increasingly becoming stronger in society, people know little about werewolves in uniform and mainly from films and books. Journalists also rarely write about it, because there is usually little information, and even less evidence. But the case that will be discussed further is really extraordinary: one of the well-known former criminals in Ukraine with a “rich” past turned to the reporters of our publication for help. He asked for help to protect his life from the police, and not ordinary, but high-ranking bosses, writes the ORD.

– Denis, you must admit that when a representative of the criminal world communicates with journalists, this is a rarity. Tell us why you decided publicly, without hiding your face and last name, to contact the media?

I was prompted to turn to journalists by fear for my life. I am threatened by the highest ranks of the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police of Ukraine. But in order for readers to understand at least a little the essence of the conflict, you will have to tell about yourself.

— My name is Denis Kolosov, I am from Cherkasy and I am a fairly well-known criminal with great experience. There are many “heavy” episodes in my past up until 2017. Then I was framed in one of the cases. Four attempts were made on me, I was all torn and broken, but miraculously survived. After the events mentioned above, I decided to start living according to the law and do not participate in the active life of Ukrainian criminals. In 2018 I moved to Kyiv, but I felt uncomfortable there, and in 2019 I moved to Kharkov. Naturally, I still have connections in the criminal world. It is also natural that major crime bosses know a lot about law enforcement officers. And it is they, the people who must defend the right and the law, who threaten me with reprisals, up to and including murder and fabricated cases.

—Can you name the names of these people?</p

—Yes, of course, let's go back specifically to Kharkiv, or rather, to the Department of Strategic Investigations (SID) of the National Police in the Kharkiv region (former UBOP). The manual was updated over a year ago. The department was headed by a “policeman with experience and a train”: Mr. Polyansky was detained for a bribe by his own colleagues and spent eight months in a pre-trial detention center. His assistant, the head of one of the departments, is Yevgeny Smal. Yevhen Smal became famous for the fact that in October 2021, his subordinates beat a man in front of him in the Bolero nightclub in Kharkiv. Naturally, there is not a single mention of Polyansky's bribe on the Internet, and Smal's case was “hushed up”.

Yevgeny Smal is generally distinguished by particular cruelty. He, let's say, beats detainees and convicts with the hands of his subordinates, forcing them to take on other people's crimes under serious articles. I personally know a case when they tried to hang Article 189 on a person (Article 189 of the Criminal Code – extortion – ed.). I also know that he drives cars with broken numbers (that is, previously stolen), even carried out the detention on a stolen Lexus. If they stop him, then the cop & # 171; crust “always helps out. He “solves problems” by intimidating people, crippling them, and so on. He is a very scary person.

—For what exactly and why are they threatening you?

— On April 14, 2021, the DSM officers detained extortionists in Kharkiv. Among the detainees there are guys I know, whom I want to help with some everyday issues. And for this, Oleg Polyansky and Yevgeny Smal are pressing me in every possible way. In particular, I noticed that I was being monitored outside. The car has been running continuously for several days now. I receive voice messages from hidden numbers with threats on social networks. Immediately after their senders see that I have read them, the messages are deleted. During one of the calls, I just sent these people and they understood that I would not stop.

I was also told that the other day in Kharkov, Smal's people carried out a mass raid (searches) at the apartments of some of my friends. They searched for any compromising evidence, but found nothing. It’s good that they didn’t plant anything, because they got the word that I was raising journalists.

— What exactly are they demanding and threatening from you?

—I run my own channel on Youtube and TikTok, in which I tell my version of many events. My truth offends police officers and damages their personal and professional reputations. Therefore, one of the requirements is that I, roughly speaking, “shut up” and delete all compromising videos. Otherwise, they promise to either plant drugs on me and I'll go to jail, or just “deal with” me. Moreover, the second option, in my opinion, is more realistic.

—Why the second one?

“You see, they have already tried to hang serious crimes on me that I did not commit. To justify myself, I had only one chance – to pass a lie detector. And I did it, and in front of the eyes of the whole country, from the screen of the STB TV channel. The detector showed that I spoke only the truth. And the police can't do anything about it. The recording of this program is available on the Internet, anyone can watch it. The police tried to cut out pieces from the recording of the program, edit them in order to fabricate evidence, but it didn’t work out. In addition, I don’t drink at all, I don’t smoke, I go in for sports – well, what kind of drugs?

—And what evidence do you have that confirms all that has been said? >— Absolutely fair question. Unfortunately, professionals are against me, quickly destroying all dirt on themselves. Therefore, only my word remains. To believe him or not to believe is up to you. I understand that most people will read and say: “well, how can you trust such a criminal”, “this is all their showdown”, “what and to whom he wants to prove” and the like – this is how our society works. But, again, I was not afraid to pass the lie detector once and if necessary, I can pass it again to prove my case.
