Former mayor of Yekaterinburg Yevgeny Roizman (who is recognized by the Ministry of Justice as a foreign agent) was arrested for 14 days for demonstrating extremist symbols on his VKontakte page.
One of the publics that bears his name published a video demonstrating this very symbolism. However, the defense claims that Roizman himself has nothing to do with it, because he has nothing to do with the public and, moreover, simply does not have an account on this social network. The court was not satisfied with these arguments, Yevgeny Roizman’s lawyer Vladislav Idamzhapov told Business FM:
“There is absolutely no evidence in the case that it was Yevgeny Vadimovich who made the repost. Moreover, we presented counter-evidence, we presented evidence that Evgeny Vadimovich, in general, as a person who does not have a personal page on the VKontakte social network, could not perform any functions on behalf of that community. That is, we have information about who was the administrator, editor, moderator, and so on in this community, and Evgeny Vadimovich is not on this list. Why did the court take such a decision? I think only the court can answer this question. A repost can be made by a person who can somehow use the VKontakte social network, but he does not have a personal page. How did he do it? I looked at the decision of the court, there is nothing in this part, the decision does not contain any conclusions.
Earlier, a criminal case was initiated against Yevgeny Roizman under the article on discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, he was forbidden to use the Internet.
