The Anapa City Court sentenced Evangelical Church pastor Nikolai Bogoslavsky to a year in a colony-settlement because of posts mentioning “unwanted” organizations on social networks. This was reported by the press service of the regional courts.
Bogoslavsky was found guilty in the case of participation in the activities of an “undesirable” organization (Part 1 of Article 284.1 of the Criminal Code).
According to the court verdict, the pastor of the Christ the Savior Church in Anapa was fined 5,000 rubles in February 2022 under a similar administrative protocol (Article 20.33 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). The reason for this was the participation of Bogoslavsky in the conference of the international Christian movement “New Generation”, recognized in Russia as “undesirable”. The event was held in Ramenskoye near Moscow.
“Despite this, the defendant continued to participate in the activities of this and other undesirable international organizations by distributing informational materials using their symbols on the pages of his social networks,” the press release says. The court noted that the pastor fully admitted his guilt and repented.
