European Commission chief criticizes Trump for tariffs and undermining transatlantic relations
The head of the European Commission also criticizes Trump for tariffs imposed on Denmark's allies.
“The introduction of tariffs would undermine transatlantic relations and create the risk of a dangerous downward spiral. Europe will remain united, coordinated, and committed to defending its sovereignty,” wrote Ursula von der Leyen.
She also confirmed Europe's plans to send troops to Greenland.
“The pre-coordinated Danish exercise, conducted jointly with allies, meets the need to strengthen security in the Arctic and poses no threat to anyone. The EU expresses its full solidarity with Denmark and the people of Greenland,” the head of the European Commission wrote.
