Erdogan proposed to Trump a trilateral summit with the participation of the leaders of Turkey, the United States, and Iran on the nuclear and regional agenda.
Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan proposed to US President Donald Trump to organize a trilateral summit on Iran involving Ankara, Washington, and Tehran.
This was reported by the Turkish pro-government newspaper Hürriyet, citing its own sources.
According to the publication, the proposal was voiced on January 27 during a phone call between the leaders of Turkey and the United States. Erdogan advocated holding a high-level meeting, not ruling out a videoconference format, which would allow for a prompt dialogue on the Iranian issue.
Hürriyet columnist Hande Fırat notes that Donald Trump reportedly responded positively to the Turkish leader's initiative. There is currently no official confirmation from the White House or the Iranian presidential administration.
