Elon Musk called for the dissolution of the European Union and the return of sovereignty to countries
Entrepreneur Elon Musk stated on social media site X that the European Union should be abolished.
“The European Union needs to be abolished and sovereignty returned to individual countries so that governments can better represent their people,” he said.
Musk noted that bureaucracy is “slowly strangling Europe.” The businessman also questioned what exactly the United States is protecting the EU from.
On December 5, European Commission spokesperson Thomas Rainier announced at a briefing in Brussels that social network X had been fined €120 million for violating the EU's Digital Services Act.
The EU's Digital Services Act (DSA) establishes uniform rules for online platforms (social media, marketplaces, search engines), obliging them to create a safe digital space, combat illegal content (terrorism, hate speech, disinformation), increase the transparency of advertising and algorithms, and protect the rights of users, especially children.
