Duracell leaves the Russian market. This was reported by the telegram channel Mash with a photo of a letter from the CEO of Duracell Russia to the company’s business partners.
According to him, the decision to leave the market and cease operations in Russia was made by the shareholders of Duracell. In the coming weeks, the company will stop deliveries and terminate all commercial contracts, annexes and additional agreements to them. The company also undertakes to fulfill current and new orders until stocks run out, follows from the letter.
The official dealer of Duracell did not receive notifications about the termination of the company’s work in Russia, a representative of the dealer company operating under the DuracellShop brand told TASS.
Later, the head of Duracell Russia confirmed the departure of the brand from Russia.
Experts note that the situation is not critical for the manufacturing market, as there are many analogues. Vladimir Matsyuk, CEO of Megapolisresurs, says:
— Duracell had different high-quality positions in different areas of the market, expensive products, today this segment is freed up for other players. Duracell has done quite a lot to create a battery collection and recycling infrastructure, and we are now discussing the prospects for this project, how it can continue without their participation.
– Now someone can quickly pick up and replace them? How critical will this be for manufacturers, people, for Russia as a whole?
— There are similar in terms of standards, dimensions, properties of electrochemical products, a fairly saturated market. Batteries are a commodity of mass demand, Duracell supplied a little for the industrial sector of Russia, mainly for personal or corporate use in devices and devices. There are similar Chinese suppliers, GP in the first place. In terms of the number of sales in Russia, as far as I know, they had more massive sales per piece than Duracell. Duracell is slightly more expensive, due to this the revenue was higher. Most likely, the GP will take this space.
Some media suggest that this may be due to the complete cessation of the supply of products from the plant in Belgium. The company declined to comment.
