Donald Trump said Emmanuel Macron will “leave office very soon” for refusing to help the US.
Donald Trump said that French President Macron will leave his post very soon.
Earlier, Macron stated at a meeting of the Republic's Security and Defense Council that Paris would not join the operation to defend the Strait of Hormuz while active military operations were ongoing in the region. However, he allowed for the possibility that France would participate in escorting ships once the situation calmed down.
At a press conference following Trump's meeting with Irish Prime Minister Michael Martin, the American leader was asked to comment on Macron's statement.
“Well, he's leaving office very soon, so we'll see. You know, I don't know,” Trump replied.
