Dmytro Firtash has finally avoided extradition to the United States after more than 10 years of trials in Vienna.
Ukrainian businessman Dmytro Firtash has finally won his extradition to the United States, Bloomberg reports.
Vienna's Higher Regional Court ruled that a lower court's ruling blocking Firtash's extradition to the United States is final because prosecutors failed to meet the appeal deadline.
The legal proceedings lasted more than 10 years. In 2014, Firtash posted a record bail of $145 million.
US prosecutors attempted to bring Firtash to trial in the US, accusing him of intending to bribe Indian officials for assistance in organizing titanium mining. Firtash denies the charges and claims the US is attempting to influence Ukrainian politics.
