Der Spiegel: At the Munich Conference, Germany proposed using Russian assets to finance Ukraine.
On the sidelines of the Munich Conference, the issue of seizing Russian assets to continue financing Ukraine was again discussed. However, no decision was reached, Der Spiegel reports.
According to the publication, Germany proposed using these funds to purchase American weapons. But France opposed the proposal.
“Berlin's proposal to use more than 90 billion euros of frozen Russian assets for further arms purchases from the United States has failed once again. Paris, in particular, opposes the idea; President Emmanuel Macron insists that the frozen assets be used primarily for the supply of weapons systems produced in Europe,” writes Spiegel.
