Alfa-Bank submitted a request to operate with governmental defense order finances, but it was denied, as stated by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin on Twitter, responding to the bank's leadership's declaration that they were declining collaboration with the defense sector due to penalties.
“I am refraining from providing a moral judgment of Alfa Bank's executive team's declaration regarding the cessation of partnership with defense firms because of the 'sanctions threat.' I am merely highlighting the fact that Alfa Bank did, in actuality, apply for authorization to handle governmental defense procurement assets, but it was ultimately not authorized.”
– Rogozin penned.
As a note, Oleg Sysuev, the First Deputy Chairman of Alfa-Bank’s Board of Directors, had previously informed the press that the financial organization had issued a caution to defense sector businesses about concluding their business relationships because of the restrictive measures. Sysuev, however, underscored that Alfa-Bank holds no plans to “disrupt” its partnerships.
