Three defendants in a criminal case of theft during the development of the Spektr-UV space telescope received suspended sentences, reports the portal of the capital’s courts of general jurisdiction in telegram channel. Two of them were released from serving their sentences.

The Basmanny District Court of Moscow sentenced the deputy general designer of the NPO named after S.A. Lavochkin to Alexander Moisheev and chief engineer of the NPO Vladimir Klimushin. In addition, Alexey Omelyanenko, deputy general director of the Mosinformstroy company, was sentenced to a suspended sentence.

All three were found guilty under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code (fraud committed by an organized group or on an especially large scale), the maximum penalty under this article is up to ten years in prison.

The court sentenced Mosheev to three years of suspended imprisonment, and Klimushin to two years and six months. Both were released from serving their sentences “due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.”

Omelyanenko, in addition to the article of fraud, was charged with clause “a” of Part 2 of Art. 199 (tax evasion by a group of persons by prior conspiracy) and Part 2 of Art. 199.2 of the Criminal Code (concealment of a particularly large amount of funds or property of an organization or individual entrepreneur, at the expense of which taxes and (or) fees should be collected). The court sentenced him to three years probation and a fine of 800 thousand rubles.

“Civil claim of the State Corporation (state corporation. – RBC) Roscosmos in the amount of more than 92 million rubles. satisfied,” the court said.

According to investigators, TASS correspondent clarifies from the courtroom, the developers of Spectra-UF, during the signing of an additional agreement to the state contract, “deliberately inflated the cost of work from 160 to 252 million rubles.” According to the agency, Mosinformstroy CEO Anatoly Skakunov is also a defendant in the case.

According to Alexander Moisheev, with this criminal case the investigator “crossed out and trashed all his achievements,” and the criminal prosecution itself negatively affects the work of the entire enterprise.
