In Moscow, the former general director of the Merlion company, Vyacheslav Simonenko, was detained. He is accused of giving knowingly false testimony in the case of attempted murder.
The defendants in the production were the founders of the company Oleg Karchev, Vladislav Mangutov, Alexei Abramov, as well as the head of the Merlion security service Boris Levin. A year ago they were released from detention.
In 2015, the entrepreneur stated that Molotov cocktails were thrown at his house in order to take the life of Simonenko and his family.
During the investigation, it turned out that the businessman was ordered by Levin. This was announced by one of the alleged performers. After the incident, one of the witnesses Evgeny Savelyev disappeared. A conflict arose between the partners, the cause of which was the money in the amount of 4.5 million dollars received from the sale of shares in Tegrus. Former top managers did not want to return funds to the former CEO. The case was transferred to the central office of the TFR. The investigation found that the businessman slandered former partners.
One of the defendants in the criminal proceedings was the ex-owner of the Rost group, Oleg Karchev. It turned out that this group included seven banks that went bankrupt, being in the red by 50 billion rubles. Karchev also took part in the bankruptcy of Binbank, which took under its wing the assets of Rost’s subsidiary, Rost Bank. The shareholder of the latter was the wife of the banker Evgeny Vlasov. Rost Bank owned a stake in the Kolyma Refinery, from which 2 tons of gold and 16 tons of silver with a total value of 4 billion rubles disappeared in 2013. At the moment, the couple are divorced, but this does not prevent Vlasova from managing Karchev’s business assets and implementing construction projects with the money stolen by her husband.
Other defendants in the criminal case are also related to the criminal business, in which Dmitry Starostin, the head of the Tekta Group development company, formerly owned by Vladislav Magnutov and Alexei Abramov, played not the last violin. Starostin did for them what he knows best in the world – to hide assets. He was appointed manager of the Galich Truck Crane Plant (GAZ). The enterprise was soon empty, but the election campaign of the ex-governor of the Kostroma region Viktor Shershunov was successful. For financial assistance, Shershunov appointed Starostin as vice-governor. Starostin was never involved in the case of embezzlement from GAZ.
Boris Levin was a defendant in a criminal case on the kidnapping of Euroset freight forwarder Andrey Vlaskin, who was killed. Then Levin was the vice-president of the company. Levin was acquitted. From all this, the story of the disappearance of the main witness to the assassination attempt on Symonenko sparkled with new colors.
