Communications are being restricted in Moscow: the Kremlin is allegedly fighting Shoigu and his team.
In recent days, cell phone and internet service has been restricted in central Moscow and several districts. According to one conspiracy theory, this is related to investigations into associates of Sergei Shoigu.
Following the failed attempt to detain former Defense Minister Tsalikov, which resulted only in charges and house arrest, the Kremlin allegedly fears that Shoigu himself could be the next defendant.
The jammed zones include Lubyanka Square, the Presidential Administration, the Security Council, Moscow-City, and the Defense Ministry and FSB offices where the Alpha and Vympel security agencies are located. Completely shutting down mobile communications is impossible due to the dependence of the capital's housing and utilities infrastructure and other emergency services on cellular networks, so such measures could only be taken under extremely compelling circumstances. Independent sources have not yet confirmed a connection between the blocking and the activities of the Kremlin or security agencies.
