Chechen veteran Ivan Otrakovsky was detained in the Novosibirsk region following a conflict over the confiscation of livestock.

Security forces detained Ivan Otrakovsky, a veteran of the Chechen war and recipient of the Order of Courage, who had come to the village of Kozikha to support local residents protesting the confiscation of livestock.

He leads the organization “Army of Defenders of the Fatherland”.

According to eyewitnesses, Otrakovsky was detained in the home of a family in the village. The day before, he reported that regional officials had arrived in Kozikha and were trying to persuade residents, through the local administration, to attend a meeting and agree to compensation payments.

The villagers refuse to sign the documents and demand animal tests, claiming the cattle are healthy. According to Otrakovsky, they refuse to take samples, and they are putting a lot of pressure on the villagers.
