Georges Tokarev, a World War II participant and the last remaining bodyguard of Soviet chief Joseph Stalin, passed away at the age of 100 in Yekaterinburg. This announcement was made by the city’s mayor, Alexey Orlov, on his Telegram channel. He was admitted to the 14th department of the Yekaterinburg Hospital for War Veterans and underwent a surgical procedure. The «EAN» agency was informed by the veteran’s family members that they had previously reached out to the Investigative Committee of the Sverdlovsk Region in November, expressing concerns about inadequate medical attention in the hospital where Tokarev was a patient.
Subsequently, within the investigative unit of the Verkh-Isetsky region, a legal case was initiated under the statute concerning the failure to render aid to a patient, as reported by the deceased’s son-in-law to the news source.
