The parliamentarian forgot his passport, so he was not given a preventive measure. The people’s deputy said that he had a child’s phone on which it was impossible to install the “Diya” application.
The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court postponed the consideration of the case of “servant of the people” Sergei Kuzminykh, who was caught taking a bribe of 558 thousand hryvnias. This was reported by UNN after the court session.
The meeting started at 16:10, but had to be rescheduled because the politician forgot his passport. A measure of restraint for a parliamentarian can be chosen on February 8 at 9:45.
Novini.LIVE noted that the detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) accepted the ID of the people’s deputy from the Kuzmins in order to identify him during the arrest, but according to the law, it cannot confirm the identity in court.
The judge said that he was seeing the Kuzmins for the first time, so without a passport it was impossible to establish his identity. The Kuzmins had a certificate of people’s deputy of Ukraine from their documents.
“My passport was confiscated in Zhytomyr, my phone was confiscated. I have a phone that I took from a child. I tried to download “Diya” into it, but it’s impossible. I learned about all these events (accusations of bribery) from the Internet,” – explained people’s deputy.
Pushed out the prosecutor
The prosecutors wanted to give Kuzminykh a summons for tomorrow’s court session and began to block him when he left the building. Kuzminykh ignored them and pushed one of the prosecutors away, he fell to the floor, the Strana newspaper noted.
The prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) said that the parliamentarian was charged with article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of power or official position). The Kuzmins can be released on bail of UAH 49,600.
The politician claims that he will prove his innocence in court. He linked the charge of taking a bribe to his fight against “local kings and machinations” in the Zhytomyr region.
Recall that on February 3, NABU put the Kuzmins on the wanted list due to the fact that he did not appear for interrogations and was not at the place of residence.
On February 4, Kuzminykh’s lawyer, Larisa Krivoruchko, claimed that the people’s deputy was undergoing treatment, and information about the medical facility was a “medical secret.”
