Candidate for the Tyumen City Duma from the “New People” Manukyan was taken into custody
Today there was a trial at which Manukyan received the status of a suspect and was placed under arrest due to fears that he would escape. He will remain behind bars until October 24. A case was already brought against the businessman (who owns the company UralStroy) in 2016, but then he managed to avoid consequences.
Rudik Manukyan was elected to the City Duma in the 16th district, but a few days ago he withdrew from the elections, citing health problems. At the same time, a criminal case was opened against Manukyan’s relative.
He is charged under Article 159, Part 4, “Fraud committed by an organized group, or on an especially large scale.” He is suspected of fraud in the construction of roads under municipal contracts.
