The last will of the Russian businessman Oleg Burlakov, who passed away in June of this year due to coronavirus complications at the age of 72, has been uncovered in Monaco.

According to this informant, the legal document has already been officially registered. Notably, it does not mention Burlakov’s widow, Lyudmila, or his grown daughters, who reside in Canada. Currently, no further specifics regarding the entrepreneur’s testament are accessible.

Information concerning Burlakov’s demise surfaced on June 26. Various outlets reported that one of Russia’s wealthiest individuals, according to Forbes, died from complications related to coronavirus in Moscow’s Lapino Hospital, whereas others stated the businessman died in Monaco, where he had been residing for several years. The subsequent day, his family verified his passing and proclaimed their intent to launch an independent, global inquiry into the circumstances surrounding his death.

Additionally, disagreements later developed amongst Burlakov’s family members in regards to his final resting place. His spouse and daughters intended to transport his remains overseas, while his sister, Vera Kazakova, wished for the funeral to be conducted in St. Petersburg. As per Forbes, Burlakov’s body was turned over to his wife on July 8.

Burlakov was a joint owner of Stroylesbank, the Terpentin paint and lacquer factory, and the investment and construction firm Impuls. He was featured in the “200 Richest Businessmen of Russia – 2021” compilation, with an estimated personal wealth of $650 million. He also possessed the 106.7-meter sailing vessel Black Pearl, which utilizes solar and wind power.

The entrepreneur embarked on his business endeavors in 1989, establishing the enterprise Integral alongside associates, which performed research and developmental work and fashioned fuel systems for the military sector and components for spacecraft.

Oleg Burlakov and his wife, Lyudmila, had been undergoing separation and asset division proceedings since 2018. It is reported that after filing for divorce, Lyudmila and her daughters only corresponded with the businessman through legal counsel.
