Exactly 25 years ago, a thief in law from Kazan, Rustam Nazarov, aka Krest, was killed by his own killers. At a young age, he managed not only to increase his authority in the Volga region, but also managed to take control of the capital of the Kama region.
However, he still received a bullet in the head as a mere mortal. “BUSINESS Online” tells the story of the failed “king” of the criminal world from Tatarstan.
Way of the Cross
Rustam Nazarov was born in 1968 in Kazan. Little is known about the beginning of the criminal path of the Cross: according to rumors, in his youth he was a member of the organized criminal group “Beasts” of the Moscow region, then he pulled himself up to the “Sotsgorod”. In 1991, he was imprisoned in Kazan IK-2, then, as a “denyer”, who did not recognize the order of the colony administration, he was transferred to a more severe special prison in Zlatoust. After his release in 1994 he returned to Kazan.
At the same time, in Moscow, the police detained the thief in law Yakutenok (Nikolai Zykov). He was not an easy thief – he looked after the whole Perm. There, Yakutenok was a very significant figure, not a single important event took place without the approval of the thief. To Permians himself, he was better known as an entrepreneur, philanthropist, publisher of a socio-political newspaper and a fan of Pyotr Stolypin. The locals called him like this: “mayor in law.” Yakutenok was detained on trifles – during the check, the capital’s policemen found a pistol and several grams of the drug in his possession. That was enough for an arrest.
With the departure of the thief, lawlessness was brewing in the city, an extremely unstable situation was created by itself. Perm hid in anticipation of a redistribution of power. In the spring of 1995, Krest found out about this when he decided to capture the city.
For the first time, Nazarov took to the streets of Perm in August 1995, so to speak, for an introductory walk. Yakutenok left another “thief” Vasily Tarychev (Tarych) looking out for the city, so the Cross was not destined to take power on the fly. And first of all – by status: at that time he was not a “thief”. Having worked up, Nazarov hastily left Perm, departing for Sochi, where he was given a “thieves’ mandate.” How and who crowned Nazar is unknown. At that time he was only 27 years old.
Despite his age, the newly minted young “thief” quickly found a common language with respectable “uncles”. In the same year, on the Black Sea coast, he was called to honor the memory of the thief Rantik Safaryan, where the Cross talked on an equal footing with influential thieves Ded Khasan (Aslan Usoyan), Nodar Jinchvelashvili and others. But in order to gain credibility, as a result, he went on a “tour” around the Volga region, where he took part in gatherings, solved certain problems and tasks. Simply put, materel, becoming more and more powerful opponent of Yakutenok in absentia. As the mzk1 portal wrote, in the end, the Cross even reached the level at which he was given the right to crown criminals himself. However, his only “godson” was the Slavic recidivist Makosha.
Capture of Perm and disappearance
The second call to Perm occurred in the same 1995. Support was provided to him by the Kazan lads. The fighters to the Cross were supplied by the leader of the Sukonka OCG, Martian Yakupov (Marsik). In October, his gang, in particular the Tatarstan killers brothers Irek and Radik Mukhutdinov, liquidated Tarych on the street. Peace. Together with the one looking at the other world, his inner circle went. Yakutenok was in prison and could not influence the formation of the new leader of the city. But to remove the Cross became his key task. Nazarov at that time actively participated in thieves’ gatherings. In 1997, he was detained at a “meeting” in Samara. Together with him “for prevention” in the police then went to a dozen other reputable thieves. A couple of months later, the Cross was “taken” in Irkutsk in the same way for a short time.
Then the Cross returns to its already Perm to improve the situation and expand its influence. But suddenly the unthinkable happens: the Cross disappears on April 13, 1997. He literally fell through the ground, no one expected him to disappear, especially since he had just taken control of the city. Perm was again left without a “crown”. And Marsik with the Kazan lads was eventually forced to leave for Moscow.
The disappearance of a competitor was in the hands of Yakutenok, who returned from the zone. First of all, the latter began to crack down on the traitors, removed his once faithful assistant, and again began to build up his shattered authority. It would seem that the Cross disappeared from his submission, but everything turned out to be much more unexpected.
The killers took away the “thief” in a carpet and buried
The Mukhutdinovs’ killer brigade, which helped the Cross “crush” Perm, went to work in Moscow. In the capital, she continued to engage in contract killings. But they were not destined to escape from the police hand. They developed killers until 1999. The detectives, investigating the murders, studied the entire route of the Kazan lads through Perm to Moscow. As a result, the investigators established the involvement of the “M” brigade (as the Mukhutdinovs were called) in a number of crimes. They took killers in the Moscow region. The operation was meticulous. The five-story house where the bandits sat was surrounded on all sides. Nobody was going to give up, and the special forces climbed into the windows. Inside, Radik Mukhutdinov and two other fighters lay face down on the floor. Soon they found the second Mukhutdinov.
During the investigation, it suddenly turned out that they had killed the Cross. Yakutenok turned out to be nothing to do with it. Irek and Radik were simply offended by their boss, not dividing the money. The killers decided that the young Cross was too greedy and lured him to a private house in the southern region of Perm. The conversation was short, Cross got shot in the head. We got rid of the body as quickly as we talked. Nazarov was wrapped in a carpet, taken to the forest and buried.
The body of the Cross was found during excavations 7 years later. His remains were reburied in Kazan, at the Sukhoretsky cemetery.
How Perm was divided after the Cross
Perm did not stay long without a “crown”. After the disappearance of the Cross, Alexander Kudinov, Yakutenok’s assistant, took the throne. But his reign was very short – he was shot from a machine gun right at the department for combating organized crime of the local police department.
As we wrote above, Yakutenok eventually returned to the city himself. This was in 1998. But he didn’t have long to live. Having removed the enemies, he forgot about the very Marsik who sharpened his teeth on the blood enemy, deciding to remove him on his birthday. On June 19 of that year, Yakutenok was resting in the Bolid club, when fighters from the Mukhutdinov brigade burst in and shot the thief along with bodyguards.
Power passed into the hands of an authority nicknamed Kazachok, but he could not stand the tension and fled the city. The last ruler of criminal Perm was Shirali Aslanov, but he also left the game in 2003.
The leader of the Kazan organized crime group “Sukonka” Marsik, who helped the Cross take Perm, was crowned in 2000. He lived until 2012, until he died due to developed pneumonia. (Business Online, 04/24/2022, Stanislav Shemelov)
