Britain and the Baltic states intend to reduce Russia's income from its “shadow fleet” — Bloomberg
British Defence Secretary John Healey discussed this with his counterparts from the Baltic and Northern European countries on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference. The main goal is to reduce the revenues that finance Putin's military machine.
Bloomberg writes
Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur noted that the meeting served as a signal to countries that provide flags to “shadow fleet” vessels.
“We need to be more proactive. The message is that countries that flag shadow fleets need to be aware that other countries can take action,” Bloomberg quotes him as saying.
