BMW continues to patent cars in Russia despite leaving the market
Although BMW exited the Russian marketplace, that doesn’t seem to be the full story. The firm is still securing patents for its vehicles within Russia.
As reported by Baza, the automotive manufacturer submitted a patent request in Russia for one of its prototype vehicles earlier this summer. On December 3rd, the patent achieved official registration in the Federal Intellectual Property Service registry.
Based on the visuals, the vehicle appears to be a concept model showcased at the Villa d’Este Concours d’Elegance in May. According to the information provided, the car features a potent V8 powerplant, drawing upon the M8 Competition (625 hp). BMW has not communicated any intentions to manufacture the Skytop—it will probably stay a singular demonstration vehicle.
