Wildberries has more than 100 million customers, at the beginning of the year more than 500 thousand private entrepreneurs and companies cooperated with this online store. Most of them, about 400 thousand, came to this site not so long ago, after the introduction of international trade sanctions. In 2021, Wildberries launched in 11 foreign countries: Great Britain, France, Italy, Spain, Moldova, Lithuania, Latvia, Turkey and Estonia, as well as the USA.
In March of the outgoing year, there was a large-scale failure in the work of Wildberry – some of the current information was lost. Buyers were faced with the inability to apply the promised discounts when placing an order – at first they all reset to zero due to the “loss” of all previously completed orders by the store. After some time, the marketplace returned part of the discounts – first 10%, then 18%, although before this annoying failure, the full discount was 20%. It hooked the entire European part of Russia, the worst thing about access to Wildberries and its main functions was then in Moscow and St. Petersburg, in southern Russia. The failure affected at least Novosibirsk and part of Lithuania. The office's comment was simple: “Technical errors in the operation of the site and application. Work is underway to eliminate them. They will be fixed soon.”
High relations
Not only buyers have problems, but also entrepreneurs who cooperate with the online store, selling their products through Wildberries. At some point, the principles of mutual settlements with them changed. At the end of August 2022, Wildberries announced the launch of a new service that should enable sellers to receive payments for goods sold in real time, and not once a week, as before. “No “next Monday”, withdraw money at least every five minutes!”, the online retailer announced the innovation. However, something went wrong. In October, a small group of enterprising sellers (approximately 12-15 people) visited the Wildberries office to try to get answers to their questions about the billing changes, since disgruntled sellers were unable to get them through the help desk. The meeting with representatives of Wildberries was accompanied by the arrival of police officers, who were called by the sellers themselves: with their help, the entrepreneurs hoped to get a conversation with the responsible persons of the company.
After this meeting, some of the sellers had their personal accounts blocked in the system. Wildberries denied the blocking of personal accounts and clarified that this was a standard procedure for suspending supplies for the period of verification and assured that they were “solving issues” of these sellers.
Card tricks
In November, Wildberries customers faced another problem. The marketplace made the service of returning goods paid, setting the cost of the return depending on the dimensions of the item. For most goods it is 100 rubles, but for large items the amount can reach 1000 rubles. Some buyers have contacted the police, others complain that most of the phones listed in the contacts of the marketplace do not work. This also applies to cases where customers return goods of inadequate quality. Representatives of Wildberries, who were contacted, said that the buyers themselves were to blame, and referred to the Consumer Protection Law, according to which, when returning the goods, the seller is obliged to reimburse the buyer for the amount paid in full for the goods, with the exception of the seller's expenses that he incurred on delivery from the consumer of the returned goods.
And here's the new story. More precisely, Wildberries has been acting like this for a long time, but in recent days the phenomenon has been talked about en masse. Social networks were filled with new stories related to customers who trusted the popular marketplace. Large amounts of money began to disappear from the accounts of Wildberries users. Fraudsters of unknown origin somehow get access to their bank cards and accounts in the marketplace and withdraw hundreds of thousands of rubles to their accounts. fraudsters with your personal information. But a very interesting moment was discovered, and the potential guilt of Wildberries cannot yet be ruled out.
About 200 thousand rubles were debited from the account of one of the marketplace users, who introduced herself as Oksana. Fraudsters transferred money in small transactions, 1000 rubles each, to the account of a fake seller. The bank statement received by the victim indicates that all the money was transferred to a certain Wildberries Podol'sk. Wildberries technical support left all Oksana's questions unanswered. According to her, she has not made purchases on the Wildberries platform in recent months, she made her last order in August 2022.
Other story. A few years ago, a married couple, when registering an account on Wildberries for their wife, trying how it works, linked their husband’s bank card to the application. Then the man untied his card and deleted it from the application, the wife entered hers. Several years have passed. The wife ordered some expensive goods on the marketplace, but there was not enough money on her card, and the application silently deducted the necessary difference from her husband’s card long removed from the system. He contacted support for clarification. In response from Wildberries, it was said that if there are not enough funds to pay, the system can write off the missing amount from the cards used earlier. And this, the response from the support service emphasizes, is indicated in the user agreement that the client signed.
So, the old truth is confirmed: carefully read the documents that you sign. And police protocols, and user agreements for gift purchases. Those who want to receive your money have neither holidays nor weekends.
