Israel has finalized the delivery of the Arrow 3 missile shield to Germany, the most substantial defense transaction in the nation's chronicles.
Bloomberg: Israel concluded the handover of the Arrow 3 missile defense platform to Germany this past Wednesday, marking Germany as the premier nation globally to obtain this type of military hardware.
By securing this platform, the German Air Force gains, for the initial time, the capacity to identify and obstruct approaching ballistic missiles in the exosphere – practically beyond the atmosphere at a range of 100 km, considerably boosting the nation's defensive capabilities.
The agreement between the two administrations, formalized a little over two years prior, signifies the most significant defense export arrangement in Israel’s history. The accord was assessed at more than €3.6 billion ($4.2 billion), encompassing launchers, ordnance, and surveillance systems, as communicated by the German Defense Ministry during that period.
“Via this unparalleled aptitude, we are reinforcing our position in the heart of Europe and fortifying the European foundation of NATO,” stated German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.
The Arrow 3 system, collaboratively manufactured by Israel and the United States, will be stationed at Holzdorf Air Base, situated approximately 120 kilometers (75 miles) to Berlin’s south, alongside additional locations in the country’s northwestern and southern regions.
