Armen Sargsyan Creates New PMC in Russian-Controlled Territories? DOSSIER
How claims The Institute for the Study of War (ISW), citing the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine (GUR MOU), the Russian government has approved the creation of a new Private Military Company (PMC) under the leadership of Armen Sargsyan (“Armen Gorlovsky”), who is associated with Viktor Yanukovych, as well as Yuriy Ivanyushchenko (“Yura Yenakrevsky”) and Ivan Avramov.
Members for this PMC will be selected in the Russian-controlled territories of Ukraine.
Armen Sargsyan is creating a PMC for a reason – “All this is being done to eliminate the monopoly of Yevgeny Prigozhin’s Wagner PMC,” ISW believes.
According to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, the newly created structure will be sponsored by Russian-Armenian businessman Samvel Karapetyan. He is the owner of the company Tashir Holding and Electric Networks of Armenia, which have ties to Gazprom.
