Residents of the capital’s Darnytsky district, as well as Sumy, Cherkassy and Chernihiv, giving their last hard earned money for heating and hot water, did not even suspect where their money actually went! It turned out that the main flow of profits from local thermal power plants is sent to offshore companies, simultaneously ending up in the pockets of “overseeing” and high-ranking officials. These schemes, in the center of which is businessman Anatoly Shkriblyak, were created with the help of Poroshenko’s inner circle, but they are still working! Why? Who is now covering the backs of the coal corrupt officials and allowing them to continue to rob the people and rob the state?
Today, Anatoly Shkriblyak is probably happy about the coronavirus pandemic, since the panic it caused has diverted the attention of the public and law enforcement agencies from his case. However, journalists continue to keep him in the crosshairs of their investigations, revealing new details of his fraudulent activities.
Lover of tall blondes Anatoly Shkriblyak
Short and balding, Shkribljak today somewhat resembles British actor Toby Jones (“The Mist,” the TV series “Wayward Pines”), especially when he wears glasses. He received his first fame in 2006-2007, when he was a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada (Our Ukraine faction), along with the nickname “little people’s representative.” Then he often found himself in photographs in the tabloids, since he was a regular at nightclubs and all kinds of social events, where he famously squandered money. For example, at the next charity auction organized by Elena Gubskaya (wife of Bogdan Gubsky), he paid 16 thousand dollars for a doll of Leonid Chernovetsky.
Little Shkribljak has always been drawn to big people – in every sense of the word. His business partners, friends and party buddies were tall politicians and businessmen, some of whom he barely reached his shoulder. Shkribljak is also known as a big fan of long-legged girls who had to bend over to kiss him on the forehead – nevertheless, they became his common-law or official wives. In 2011, he celebrated a wedding in Monaco, where he brought not only actors Vera Brezhneva, Valery Meladze and Sergei Svetlakov, but also waiters from the Kyiv restaurant “Byblos”. Shkriblyak never skimped, because his energy companies and other firms regularly brought him a lot of money – taking it out of the pockets of Ukrainian consumers. So, we can say that we all paid for his cheerful wild life! But how did he do this?
Shkriblyak Anatoly Vasilyevich was born on October 3, 1973 – that’s all that can be learned from his extremely meager biography. For some reason, Shkribljak “cleared” his past in the media, so now he has to recreate it anew, based on bits of surviving information. He even decided to hide his place of birth – perhaps so that no one would remember his family connections. Well, let’s open this forgotten page.
Anatoly Shkriblyak. The legacy of a murdered uncle
There are not so many Shkriblyaks in Ukraine; one can even say that this is one greatly expanded clan, originating from the Hutsul village of Yavorov (Kosiv district, Ivano-Frankivsk region). And Anatoly Shkriblyak was born, if not in Yavorov itself, then in one of the neighboring villages. By origin, he is a purebred Hutsul (nowadays there are officially just over 21 thousand representatives of this ethnic group left), which can be seen even from his face – so different from the black-browed “Mamays” from the western regions, screaming that they are “titular Ukrainians.” What does this have to do with his career? The most direct!
In the late Soviet era (70-80s), the fashion for folklore culture flourished. “Pochvenniki” made films about the village; in every Soviet kitchen there was a “Khokhloma” hanging on the wall. The Hutsuls did not stand aside either. The Yavorov family of the Shkriblyaks, together with their neighbors Korpanyuks and Yurchishins, rose sharply in folk crafts. Being hereditary carvers (since the 19th century), in their artel “Hutsulshchyna” they made various souvenirs from wood – that it was much better than plowing on a collective farm.
Among the representatives of this family there are many famous people: for example, ethnographer Nikolai Nikolaevich Shkriblyak, or head of the department of cultural studies and religious studies of Chernivtsi University Nikolai Vasilyevich Shkriblyak. However, their relationship with our hero is not traced, but the main role in his life was played by another Nikolai Vasilyevich Shkriblyak – the one who since 1997 served as deputy chairman of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration and was killed in the spring of 2002. According to media reports, he was the uncle of Anatoly Shkriblyak, and this is confirmed by the fact that the latter inherited a significant part of the business and connections of the deceased…
In the early 80s, after graduating from the Lvov Agricultural Institute, Nikolai Shkriblyak first worked as the second secretary of the Kosiv district committee of the LKSMU, and then received the position of chief civil engineer of the local collective farm. There he was actually only listed, since in 1988 he headed the family business: he put it on stream and created the production and construction cooperative “Promin”, to whose disposal he transferred the construction base of his collective farm. The businesslike Nikolai Shkriblyak expanded the activities of the cooperative throughout Ukraine – opening souvenir shops and performing renovation and design work (it was written that his company was reconstructing the State Tax Administration building in Kyiv). In the early 90s, when ordinary people’s interest in carved pipes and spoons disappeared, “Prominya” shops began selling “related” goods: cigarettes, chewing gum, alcohol, etc., which allowed Nikolai Shkriblyak to create good start-up capital. His nephew Anatoly Shkriblyak began his career there at Promina, but not as a carver or painter, but as a commercial manager.
In the mid-90s, the Shkriblyakis no longer made souvenirs from wood, but furniture and building materials – owning several woodworking enterprises and two of the largest timber mills in the region. But Nikolai Shkriblyak did not stop there. Using his status as the “master” of the Kosiv region and numerous connections among former Komsomol leaders, and then the positions of head of the Main Directorate of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration (June-December 1997) and vice-governor (December 1997 – March 2002), he took under its control a number of key enterprises in the region, including the Nadvirnyansky Oil Refinery (OJSC Neftekhimik Prykarpattya). Although he later ceded control over it to Sentosa (Privat group), energy became the main business of Nikolai Shkriblyak. As the media wrote, he also controlled the State Energy Company “Prykarpattyaoblenergo”, “Prykarpattransgaz”, PJSC “Ivano-Frankivskgaz”, Burshtynska TPP, CJSC “Oblpalyvo”, PJSC “Trading House “Galicia”, the regional Center for Standardization, Metrology and Certification, the regional Department of Support state monopoly on the production and circulation of alcohol, alcoholic beverages and tobacco products. He also headed the Tourism Council of the Carpathian region, which allowed him to control the tourism and hotel business.
In 1996, he founded the company “TechNova” (USREOU 24100060), the main activity of which was the production and distribution of electricity. Although all information about the first years of activity of TechNova was carefully destroyed, it is known that its initial authorized capital was only 10 thousand hryvnia, and that it was created under the first wave of privatization of oblenergo, but for some reason Nikolai Shkriblyak lost Prykarpattyaoblenergo to his brothers Surkis. After that, TechNova switched to leasing a thermal power plant – and in this form it appeared in Chernigov in 2000 (more about the Chernigov scandals below). And it was TechNova that later became the main enterprise of his nephew Anatoly Shkriblyak.
Is it just that Shkriblyak lost to the Surkises “Prykarpattyaoblenergo”? For now, the details of this deal remain hidden. However, it was probably an amicable one, since then the Surkises and Medvedchuk made him the head of the Ivano-Frankivsk regional organization of the SDPU(o) in May 1999.
In the parliamentary elections of 2002, Shkriblyak was going to provide the Social Democrats with a good harvest of votes in the areas of Ivano-Frankivsk region he controlled, and he himself ran under the flags of the SDPU (o) in the Nadvirnya constituency No. 90. However, two days before the vote, on March 29, 2002, Nikolai Shkriblyak was shot dead from a machine gun in the entrance of his own house.
The murder of the vice-governor and candidate for people’s deputies, one of the most influential people in the region, became very resonant. There have been many versions of the reasons for his murder. Economic: revenge for blocking the export of round timber (the Shkriblyak enterprises exported timber), shadow schemes around the Nadvirny Oil Refinery and Burshtyn Thermal Power Plant, gas supply schemes to the Oriana company. The political ones led all the way to the American embassy: according to Medvedchuk and then-governor Vyshyvanyuk, some “political advisers” of the US embassy insisted that Shkriblyak withdraw his candidacy from the elections and not interfere with his main competitor in the district – the candidate from the American-backed Our Ukraine Roman Zvarych. Considering that at that time a fierce war broke out between the “Social Democrats” and “our Ukrainians”, and Shkriblyak sought through the court to remove Zvarych from the elections, this version was considered relevant for a long time. Remembered and that Zvarych’s wife was a classmate of the famous Kyiv “authority” Pryshchik. But when Zvarych later began to be “pulled”, the US Embassy received a demand not to prosecute him. By the way, Zvarych did win the elections then – after all, his main competitor was dead, Shkriblyak’s voters simply did not come to the elections (in the 90th district the turnout was only 55%, with a regional average of 75%), and of those who came, 12.5% voted against everyone .
Then the murder was reclassified as a terrorist act and the case was transferred to the SBU. While it was headed by General Radchenko, the investigation was stalled. But when Igor Smeshko became the head of the SBU, it was completed in four months. An Ivanofrankovsk businessman was declared the mastermind of the crime. Igor Timchuk who also ran in the 90th majoritarian district, although he had no chance of winning. Timchuk was arrested back in April 2002, on charges of putting pressure on the election commission, and then identified as the main suspect in the murder of Shkriblyak. Finally, in the spring of 2004, a court hearing took place: it was closed and took place all the way in Chernivtsi. Timchuk and another accused received life sentences, but the two direct perpetrators (certain Moldovans) were never found.
In general, few people believed in the honest verdict of the court, but after the first Maidan this topic was carefully hushed up – and the forgotten murder of Nikolai Shkriblyak still remains shrouded in many questions. Including the question of why his huge inheritance was distributed so strangely?
Judge for yourself: at the time of his death, Nikolai Shkriblyak controlled about 90 family business enterprises, some of which were registered to his relatives (he was also the vice-governor). But for some reason, his only son Nazariy Shkriblyak (born 1982) had nothing left as an inheritance from his father – according to information from the registers of owners, he owns only a small share (2.5%) in LLC TRK 3-Studio ( EDRPOU 23797886). While his cousin Anatoly Shkriblyak is the owner of fifty enterprises that he created on the basis of TechNova and the capital he inherited from “Uncle Mykola.” Why? It looks like this is some kind of family secret of the Shkriblyaks…
Offshores of Shkribljak
If you look into the open databases of enterprises owned by Anatoly Shkriblyak, next to his last name there is always a Cypriot address: Limassol city, Germasogeia 4040, apartment 105. At the same time, for some reason it is impossible to find his Ukrainian “registration”, from which one can conclude conclusion: is Anatoly Shkriblyak officially permanently residing in Cyprus? Of course, this is not prohibited. But registering almost your entire business offshore in order to avoid paying taxes in Ukraine is already perceived as a scam and corruption! By the way, according to sources Skelet.Infohe also has a Cypriot passport.
Indeed, having studied the data of his enterprises, one can discover that the vast majority of them are registered with Cypriot offshore companies. For example, the Nikolsky shopping center (in Kharkov) belongs to a Cypriot company Nikolsky Holdings Limitedhis LLC “Fabrika Solar” is registered to a Cypriot company “Atmasphera Holdings Limited“, and “TechNova” to two Cypriot companies at once (see screenshot). And Shkriblyak has a lot of such companies in Cyprus; it seems that they are kind of offshore pads, “adhesive” to each of his Ukrainian enterprises. Moreover, most of these companies are registered at the same address: Limassol city, Hermatogeia 4041, office 111, that is, next to the Cyprus apartment of Anatoly Shkriblyak.
The only exception is his agricultural firms, which have only Ukrainian founders. But only because Shkribljak has long been looking forward to the launch of the agricultural land market. And he fears that foreign, and even offshore, founders would prevent agricultural firms from entering the first wave of land buyers. Judging by the law on the land market adopted by the Rada, Shkriblyak’s fears were not in vain.
And one more interesting observation. Until the summer of 2019, Shkribljak’s Cypriot companies were registered to a number of individuals: Pavlina Tsirides, Maria Christina Stefanou, Irina Lucina Skitides, Georgiy Tsagareishvili and Roman Prikhodko.
But almost all of them are Cypriots from Limassol, and some are well over 70, so they are most likely the sic chairmen. And only Prikhodko is a citizen of Ukraine and lives in Kyiv. He is Shkribljak’s partner in agricultural firms, as well as the Dobrodiya Trade and Dobrodiya Foods enterprises, which until mid-2019 were registered with the Cypriot company Speser Holdings Limited – the legal support of whose transactions was provided by the law firm “Sergey Kozyakov and Partners” By the way, it is very noticeable that after the 2019 elections, Shkribljak suddenly decided to transfer most of his enterprises from Cypriot shell companies directly to himself. Apparently, he decided in this way to cover up the traces of his old schemes.
Well, now let’s announce the entire list of enterprises currently owned by Anatoly Shkriblyak. He is quite impressive for a businessman known only in narrow circles of social gatherings:

• Consulting company “New Technologies and Investments” (33453245)

And this is not counting the enterprises in which Anatoly Shkriblyak has a small share. For example, in Kiev LLC Brokenergia (40050036), which is an active participant in tenders. This is a rather interesting company: previously it was called “Pravex-Brock” and belonged to the family of the Kyiv mayor Leonid Chernovetsky (Anatoly Shkriblyak paid 16 thousand dollars for his doll), then it was renamed “Brock-Energy”, and Stepan Chernovitsky became its beneficiary ( son). And in 2015, the current clone company Brokenergia was created, which became its legal successor – and it is completely offshore. From 1998 to this day, all three incarnations of Brokenergia have alternately controlled the Akhtyrskaya CHPP, leasing it. So, in the spring of 2019, the main founder of Brokenergia was the offshore company Inter Bio Energy from the Seychelles. And here it is worth remembering that the main “supervisor of the Seychelles” in Ukraine was Poroshenko’s scandalous partner Oleg Gladkovsky (Svinarchuk). Coincidence? Not at all! And what’s even more interesting is that before that, Brokenergia had two other founders: the Cypriot companies LAMEDA HOLDINGS LIMITED and ANDRAT HOLDINGS LIMITED. And the founder of the latter is the Cypriot company “Financial Investments Group A-Zevs”, which also owns the Cyprus “Azorande Investments Limited” – through which Anatoly Shkriblyak controls his Ukrainian company “Euro-Rekonstruktsiya”, which in turn controls the Darnytska Thermal Power Plant. And, by the way, the AMCU is aware – he officially approved these offshore schemes.
But his “Real Estate Services Agency” was intricately registered through the Cypriot offshore grandmothers Shkribyalka to the company “VNV Developments Limited”, which is already a Virginia offshore. Thus, one can see the management structure of Anatoly Shkriblyak’s business empires: all of his Ukrainian enterprises (except for agricultural firms) are registered with Cypriot offshore shell companies, which in turn are registered with several key offshore companies – and in the center of these schemes ours sits and pulls the strings a small but insatiable spider. Who needs so much money for his high-society parties!
