The suspect developed and implemented a criminal scheme for the purchase of construction materials at a significantly inflated price.
The head of one of the housing and maintenance departments of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine was informed of suspicion of embezzlement of more than 2.3 million hryvnia on the purchase of construction materials. This was reported by the press service of the Office of the Prosecutor General on Friday, October 4.
According to the investigation, the suspect, from November 2022 to September 2024, developed and implemented a criminal scheme for the purchase of construction materials at a significantly inflated price. At the same time, open tenders were not held and an electronic catalog was not used for the purchase of goods and services.
As a result of illegal actions, part of the budget funds was transferred without justification. The examination confirmed damage to the state in the amount of more than 2.3 million hryvnia.
In July, during a large-scale special operation throughout Ukraine, 30 suspicions were reported to the organizers and participants of criminal schemes to steal budget funds allocated to meet the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Employees of apartment maintenance departments, together with representatives of commercial structures in almost all regions, were involved in them.
Let us recall that officials of the Poltava City Council were informed of suspicion of embezzlement of 5.3 million hryvnia of budget funds allocated for the purchase of drones.
