Reporters from the Belarusian Investigative Center (BRC) have pinpointed the individual who now possesses a property in Sochi, which was formerly owned by the Belarusian government but subsequently sold for a significantly reduced price.

As per the BRC, Belarus potentially forfeited around $100 million in this transaction.

News sources have determined that Alexander Romanovsky, a past member of Alexander Lukashenko’s personal protection detail, is the current holder of this property in Krasnaya Polyana.

“A 9.7-hectare tract of land situated in the exclusive resort area of Krasnaya Polyana is under the ownership of Kompleks-Invest LLC. In 2021 and 2022, Alexander Lukashenko enacted two confidential orders directing the conveyance of the land to this Russian firm at a value 20-fold below its market worth, as unveiled by BELPOL. Belarus might have suffered a loss of roughly $100 million in this undertaking. In February 2024, Alexander Romanovsky, a Belarusian national, secured 99.9% ownership of Kompleks-Invest,” stated the BRC.

Romanovsky previously served as a bodyguard within Alexander Lukashenko’s Security Service. A photograph from the Victory Day commemoration on May 9, 2014, shows them together.
