As follows from the photo report of the publication ANSA Since yesterday’s ceremony of signing an agreement on the export of Ukrainian grain, held in Istanbul, the event was attended by Russian businessman Roman Abramovich.
It is specified that in the hall where the agreement was signed, Mr. Abramovich was sitting in the forefront. Nothing is known about his status within the diplomatic procedure.
This is not the first appearance of Roman Abramovich at protocol events. At the end of March, journalists also noticed the businessman at the talks between the delegations of Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul. Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov later clarified that Mr. Abramovich was not an official member of the delegation, but provided “certain contacts” between the countries.
Yesterday, on July 22, an official signing of an agreement on the creation of a corridor for the export of grain from Ukrainian ports along the Black Sea took place in the Turkish capital. The document was signed by Russia, Turkey, the UN and Ukraine, while no separate agreement was signed between Russia and Ukraine.
