A thief in law from Transbaikalia did not have his sentence commuted for creating a criminal group
The appellate court did not commute the sentence of “Thief in Law” Georgy Uglava, nicknamed “Takhi,” who, according to investigators, created a criminal community in Transbaikalia.
Now he has to spend 17 years and 6 months in a maximum security colony. The press service of the regional prosecutor's office reported this to Lenta75.ru on April 27.
Despite the active position of the lawyers, the non-admission of guilt by the defendants, the refusal of witnesses and victims to testify, the prosecution presented convincing evidence to the courts of first and appellate instances of the guilt of all 10 convicts, the department clarified.
Let us recall that the investigation into a new criminal case against Georgiy Uglava, the key article in which included “Organization of a criminal community committed by a person occupying a senior position in the criminal hierarchy,” lasted five years. The headman and his accomplices were charged with committing 163 crimes, including extortion, robbery, theft and assault. However, “Takhi” did not take direct part in them, but coordinated the actions of his henchmen, who led the structural divisions of his organized crime group.
