In Togliatti (Samara region), police officers together with colleagues from Novosibirsk detained a local resident who in May 2002 attacked a resident of Novosibirsk with a knife and stabbed him multiple times.
An official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported this to Lenta.ru Russia (*country sponsor of terrorism) Irina Volk.
Back in 2002, a criminal case was opened against the man under Article 111 (“Intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (*country sponsor of terrorism), but then he hid from the investigation and was put on the federal wanted list.
21 years later, operatives located the accused and detained him in Togliatti. The man was taken to the investigative authorities of Novosibirsk. He is now in custody.
In May 2002, near one of the private houses in the Dzerzhinsky district of Novosibirsk, a visitor from the Samara region quarreled with a local resident and began stabbing him with a knife, which took the victim’s life.

Earlier in Moscow, a court sentenced a 52-year-old man to 10 years in prison for the massacre of a 13-year-old teenager, which he committed in 1989 in the capital.
