A report was drawn up against deputy Grigory Eremeev in Samara for criticizing the army.
In Samara, 69-year-old politician Grigory Yeremeyev, a member of the Democratic Party of Russia, was charged with “discrediting the army.” The case file was submitted to the city's Leninsky District Court on January 28.
The occasion was his speech at a meeting of the Samara Regional Duma on December 23, where he publicly called for an end to the conflict, for which, according to him, the deputies and Putin should share responsibility.
During the session, Yeremeyev also spoke about the redistribution of budget funds in favor of the region's residents and criticized military spending. His speech was heard to the end, but after he attempted to continue speaking, his microphone was cut off amid shouts from the audience.
Later, in a closed-door meeting, the deputies unanimously decided to appeal to the security forces. The issue of his remarks about possible election fraud is being considered separately; a re-examination has been ordered.
