A poll shows that support for peace talks in Ukraine is growing in Russia.

The number of supporters of peace negotiations in Ukraine is growing in Russia, according to a Levada Center poll.

In February, the majority of Russians (67%) said that peace negotiations are now necessary. Compared to January, this share of respondents increased by 6 percentage points, thereby reaching a new all-time high for this indicator (the number of people supporting peace negotiations among young people under 25, women, and lower-income Russians is higher than the national average).

At the same time, the share of those who believe that it is necessary to continue has again decreased to a quarter of respondents, falling to a minimum for the entire observation period – 24% (the number of supporters is higher than the average for Russia in Moscow, among wealthier Russians and among respondents over 55 years old).
