According to reports, fuel and ammunition are detonating at the base. Bahraini authorities are evacuating residents from the Juffair district of Manama, where the military base is located, the country's Interior Ministry reported on social media.
“The Ministry of Interior has begun evacuating citizens from the Juffair area. We urge you to cooperate with the relevant authorities,” the statement reads.
