A Bryansk region resident attempted to blackmail his ex-girlfriend into returning money spent on gifts.
The man resorted to blackmail to get back the money he had given his ex for gifts.
However, as a result, he ended up owing her an amount three times greater than the original.
According to Baza, 30-year-old Ivan from Petukhovka, Bryansk Oblast, couldn't get over his breakup with his girlfriend and, upset with her, decided to calculate how much he spent on his ex during their relationship.
The “courtship” totaled 33,000 rubles. Ivan presented his ex with the “check” and threatened to pay her back every penny or he would leak incriminating evidence about her online. When she refused, he followed through on his threats.
His ex-husband's patience snapped, and she went to the police. Ivan was sentenced to one year and six months of restricted freedom for extortion and ordered to pay her 100,000 rubles in compensation.
