“We will steal under any flag!”?
In April of this year, the Simonovsky Court of Moscow sentenced the swindler spouses Yuri Savyak And Olga Krykanova to six years in prison each on charges of stealing $1.5 million through fraud. Alas, the verdict is in absentia: the couple moved to Austria back in 2020, where they had several companies registered. Now the Austrian justice is only blowing its whistle in response to requests from our Prosecutor General’s Office for the extradition of convicted criminals, despite the fact that Vienna also has questions for the cunning Savyak-Krykanova family of swindlers.
Thus, the court decision has not yet put an end to it, but only an ellipsis in a story that has been going on since 2013. That year, Savyak, a friend and business partner in fraudulent schemes Mikhail Mamiashviliat his suggestion, fraudulently entered into an agreement on joint activities in the field of supply of petroleum products with Nadezhda Chernova.
As a result, Chernova’s company Positive marketing ltd, through the mediation of Savyak, transferred $1.5 million to the Austrian company S&I Handels- und Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH. She, in turn, sent them to a certain company Edena Investments ltd, where the funds disappeared without a trace. They were, simply put, stolen.
A criminal case for fraud was opened in 2017. Spouse-swindlers Yuri Savyak and Olga Krykanova were initially involved in it as witnesses, however, when their status changed to suspects in 2020, they calmly moved to Vienna.
And here we come to the most interesting part. Everyone knows that you won’t even be allowed into Belarus if you owe at least a thousand to your management company for utilities. And here – two suspects of major theft – leave the country without any problems.
How did they do it?
There is a suspicion that the President of the Russian Wrestling Federation, Mikhail (Mamik) Mamiashvili, took care of the scammers. With Austrian law enforcement officers, he is a partner of swindlers Savyak and Krykanova. It was he who convinced Chernova to agree to Savyak’s proposal, and took upon himself guarantees for the implementation of the contract, which was initially a scam.
It was Mamiashvili and his emissaries who made a lot of effort to sweep this story under the rug. However, they don't do it very well. So, in Minsk they quickly investigated the scam, and back in 2016 they sent the owner of Edena Investments ltd, a certain Kazbek Yaprintsev, and his partner to places not so distant Alexandra Arabyan. Along the way, the Minsk court identified the accomplices of the swindlers – Kazbek’s father, an eminent wrestler, multiple European and world champion, vice-president of the European and Belarusian sambo associations, Vladimir Yaprintsev, owning 33.3% of the large Belarusian holding Triple. The latter, however, got off with a fine.
Why did Russian law enforcement officers wait until the moment when the main suspects fled abroad? Isn’t this indecision visible under the influence of the President of the Russian Wrestling Federation, Mikhail Mamiashvili?
After all, he is not only a respected sports figure, but also an “ardent patriot” of his country.
True, this patriotism is disguised. So, for example, when after 2014, one after another, world sports federations began to prohibit our athletes from entering competitions under the Russian flag, Mamiashvili, without blinking an eye, declared: we will win under any flag! As if he did not know what an indignation caused in society the behavior of those athletes who expressed complete readiness to spit on their country just to get to international competitions.
Mamiashvili confirms his “patriotism” not only in word, but also in deed. In 2016, at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, he attacked the loser of the fight with his fists Inna Trazhukova, accusing the girl of “betraying the team.” That story was then thoroughly trampled underfoot.
Mamiashvili subsequently apologized, and although the athlete did not accept the apology, he not only did not go “for Mozhai,” but did not even lose his chair.
Meanwhile, there are specific questions about Mamiashvili’s “patriotism”. For example, I would really like to understand what country is he a patriot of?
Despite his Caucasian surname, the president of the FSBR has a completely Slavic appearance. And this is not surprising, since Mamiashvili is Ukrainian by nationality, a native of the notorious city of Konotop. At home, by the way, they remember him. And he doesn’t forget about her. It’s not because of his beautiful eyes that the central stadium and sports school of Konotop are named after him? It is unknown whether commemorative plaques dedicated to him are still preserved at these sports facilities. The proud name of Mamiashvili, assigned to Konotop sports grounds, was displayed on the FSBR website until the very beginning of the SVO.
It would be extremely interesting to know whether Mamiashvili limited himself to lending his name to Konotop sports grounds? And why are Russian law enforcement officers embarrassed to bother Mamiashvili with this issue?
Let's say that proving that a wrestler-official has put together, in fact, an international gang is long and difficult.
Suppose that someone very high-ranking convinced the security forces not to pay attention to the pranks of him and his fellow swindlers.
And also for Mamiashvili’s multiple lordly trips to the most expensive resorts in the world from Dubai to Courchevel with all the servants, costing many hundreds of thousands of dollars. And this despite the fact that they say that the wrestlers are not paid legitimate prize money. It seems that the Russian Wrestling Federation has long become the personal fiefdom of a dishonest leader.
At the same time, we do not at all intend to cast a shadow on Russian wrestlers. Hundreds and thousands of wrestlers, boxers and other athletes of contact martial arts fight with honor against Nazism on the fields of the Northern Military District or defend the Russian flag in the rings and tatami.
But we have a question for them too. Last – in order, but not least: brother fighters, heirs of the great Karelin and Saitiev, who have you found as your leader?!
