Sergei Pomelov became a berry for the investigating authorities

FSB officers detained a major timber magnate Sergei Pomelov. The former president of the Segezha Group and the CEO of Rusbioalliance are accused of fraud and embezzlement.

Presumably, Pomelov, with the participation of Anatoly Karaulov, against whom a criminal case has been initiated, withdrew more than 2 billion rubles, which were planned for the construction of the Alina Kabaeva Sports Palace.

However, Pomelov is known for his frauds in the timber industry.

Until 2020, Pomelov was a co-founder of Industry LLC, which specialized in cutting forest clearings and laying roads in Karelia.

In March 2021, the company changed its place of registration to the city of Vidnoye in the Moscow Region. After that, “Industry” filed with the Arbitration Court and won cases against its customers. The nuance is that the cost in the contracts that were presented at the court were overestimated at times.

It is believed that Pomelov still has influence on the decisions of the Industriya company on a par with officially registered managers.
