According to media reports, at least five people have already been searched, whom the investigation considers to be Ponomarev’s associates*. Among them are his colleagues, former State Duma deputies: Margarita Svergunova, Oleg Gonzharov and Boris Konovalov. What is known about them?
Margarita Svergunova going into exile?
48-year-old ex-deputy Margarita Svergunova is from Yaroslavl. In the nineties, she was engaged in business, in the 2000s she coordinated the local cell of the Liberal Democratic Party, in 2011-2016 she worked as a deputy of the State Duma of the VI convocation, but she did not remember anything special. The most striking episode with her participation during this time is a scandalous accident in her hometown. The court found the deputy guilty. Nevertheless, Svergunova, to the last, tried to shift responsibility to the second participant in the accident, a mother of many children. The regional press covered the conflict extensively.
– After the collision, Svergunova began to threaten me that until I plead guilty, I “will not walk on the land of Yaroslavl.” The son asked: “Mom, what is she threatening?” I was afraid for my life and the life of my children, ”the second participant in the accident told reporters.
According to the portal of the employment service, at the moment Margarita Svergunova is on the staff of one of the capital’s utility companies. She is also the beneficiary of the Lyubertsy enterprise “SB Gorodok”, which is engaged in the retail trade in alcoholic beverages and tobacco products. It looks like SB Gorodok will soon be shut down by the tax authorities: it has not been the first year that financial statements have been submitted there, the address and director are incorrectly indicated. Back in 2018, Svergunova’s husband tried to sell this business for 750 thousand rubles at specialized sites: the price included the balance of goods, the cash desk, refrigerators, computers, scales, furniture, storage and retail space.
Shortly before the search, Svergunova put up real estate in her native Yaroslavl region for sale: a spacious apartment in a brick Brezhnevka for 3.4 million rubles and four hectares of rural land for 1 million rubles. Earlier, last fall, it urgently sold 18 hectares in the same region at a price of 3.6 million rubles, which is 75% lower than the market. Other sold lots include a coat by Slava Zaitsev and mink coats.
The Svergunov couple was registered in a three-room high-rise building in Lyubertsy near Moscow in Khlebozavodsky passage. Such housing on the secondary market costs up to 14 million rubles, it was also put up for sale and also at a big discount – minus 50%. It is unknown if a buyer has been found.
In fact, the Svergunovs live in apartments worth up to 12 million rubles in the residential complex “Grad Moskovsky” in the west of Moscow. We are talking about a new well-maintained quarter surrounded by the Valuev forest and Filatovsky park.
One gets the impression that Svergunova guessed that the security forces would have questions about her, so the family began to quickly get rid of assets in Russia. And, judging by their social networks, they were considering exotic countries for moving.
Retired politician Oleg Gonzharov
The peak of the political career of 69-year-old Oleg Gonzharov is long gone. He was born in the Ukrainian city of Krivoy Rog, a doctor by training. For some time he worked as the head of the press service of the administration of the Novosibirsk region. In the mid-nineties, he was elected to the State Duma of the 2nd convocation from the All-Russian socio-political movement “Our Home is Russia”. He was a member of committees for nationalities and regional policy.
In recent years, Gonzharov worked as a bankruptcy trustee. He has dozens of liquidated businesses on his account. The former politician is registered and lives in Moscow in a three-story high-rise building near the Mitinsky forest park – such real estate will cost 18-20 million rubles. More interesting are the square meters of his daughters. The youngest lives in a studio on the top floors of a stylish new building in the Khoroshevsky residential complex – the price is over 20 million rubles. The eldest was registered in the St. Petersburg residential complex of the business class “Living Spring”, she has a hundred square meters there, worth about 20-25 million rubles.
Boris Konovalov has real estate in Kyiv
A long time ago, 64-year-old Boris Konovalov from Novosibirsk also retired from political affairs. He forged his political career during the period of perestroika, which found him in the position of editor of the newspaper Molodist Sibiri. In 1990-1993, he was a people’s deputy, then became a member of the country’s Supreme Council Committee on the Media. In the noughties he was engaged in trading business.
Officially, the Konovalov family lives modestly. She has a kopeck piece in a high-rise panel building near the Ostankino television center (price is about 16 million rubles), a studio in Khrushchev in the north-east of the capital (up to 10 million), and an apartment near Sokolniki Park (up to 20 million). More expensive is the family estate in the Novosibirsk village of Goluboi Zaliv on the banks of the Ob River (up to 30 million).
According to social networks, the children of Konovalov could leave their homeland after the start of the SVO. For example, his youngest son maintains a business page “Mototourism in Nepal”, and also constantly uploads photos from Kazakhstan. My son also has a business in Moscow. He manages the Internet Payments IT company with a revenue of almost 50 million rubles last year. Interestingly, this startup received financial support from the Russian Foundation for the Development of Internet Initiatives.
