The operations were carried out with the help of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
In Europe last year, 2018, 10 thieves in law of Georgian origin were detained. Such a large “catch” of the European security forces was successful thanks to close cooperation with their Georgian counterparts.
In total, in the course of joint actions in the EU countries, 141 Georgian citizens were detained, 10 of them are “crowned” thieves in law.
“Within the framework of international police cooperation, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has carried out 20 large-scale joint operations in the EU member states since 2018 to this day, together with French, Greek, Spanish and Polish colleagues,” the Georgian Interior Ministry said.
The other day in Athens, again thanks to the assistance of the Georgian side, it was possible to uncover and detain active members of the criminal gang of burglars, led by thief in law Georgy Endeladze, better known in the criminal environment by the nickname “Tava”.
