“Fontanka” learned that by the evening of February 9, testimony about the atrocity lay on the protocols of interrogation. And this directly concerns one of the richest businessmen in Russia in the past, Mark Goryachev. It was believed that he suddenly got lost in St. Petersburg.
In August 1994, millions of Russians watched Rush Hour, one of the highest-rated TV shows. That interview of the iconic journalist Vladislav Listyev and St. Petersburg billionaire, State Duma deputy Mark Goryachev can still be easily found on YouTube today. It was, as always, a lively dialogue. Listyev began by saying that Goryachev was the richest legal businessman in the country. They talked about how Goryachev slapped Zhirinovsky in parliament and about the end of the white market in Russia. Their dialogue was interrupted by MMM advertising, and Goryachev joked that Mavrodi should be appointed Minister of Finance. Such a time. And neither Listyev nor Goryachev knew that a little more and they were dead.
The general director of ORT, Listyev, was killed in Moscow on March 1, 1995, and on March 4, 1997, Goryachev was kidnapped in St. Petersburg. So far, only speculation has flown. On February 9, operatives from the “custom” department and the Investigative Committee of St. Petersburg removed one secret.
Mark Goryachev was scheduled to meet near the Torzhkovsky market. Nobody has seen him since. Yes, back then, in 1997, the criminal investigation department collected eyewitness testimony – several people attacked him, Goryachev yelled, resisted, they beat him hard and put him in a car. But then the prosecutor’s office doubted the truth of what happened.
At that time, Goryachev was already over 40. His career is unusual even for the maelstrom of those years. A professional guitarist, since 1988 he began to sell the most unnecessary product at that time – pianos. He created the Goryachev Concern, into which factories and real estate were poured. He declared his billions, which caused laughter. He bought his first Ferrari in St. Petersburg, in 1993 he dived into politics from the now forgotten Party of Russian Unity and Accord. He did not get into the Second Duma, and by that time he already had colossal bank debts.
So many felt that he simply fled, having previously taken wealth abroad. And the situation on Torzhkovskaya was staged. In vain they sinned against a person.
From here it is already possible, once inserting “according to the Investigative Committee”, to state the past. It partly overturns the myths about the mafia.
Four foreheads attacked Goryachev near the market. The order was given to them even then by the brand of gangster St. Petersburg Vladimir Kulibaba. He, as Fontanka often wrote, was the deputy of the legendary Bones of the Grave (killed in 2003). Goryachev was stuffed into the armored Mercedes of Kulibaba himself. And this was not done for the sake of the eminent victim. The driver had a special ticket in store for any law enforcement officers who were interested – “The car is not subject to verification”, “State numbers are sliding”. Then the lads were given such things. And somewhere this is true – they were the actual power.
“Mers” drove the beaten Goryachev to the village of Ozerki. It’s 40 kilometers along the Primorskoye Highway, beyond Zelenogorsk. But he was not brought to the forest to a pre-dug hole. To the private mansions of Kulibaba himself.
On that territory, his house with a swimming pool, tennis court, guest annex and so on still stands. In those years, they built the whole flock there. Nearby, Kostya Mogila himself settled down, a couple of his “heads of departments”, some of the future deputies of the St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly and the Duma. If you take a walk around now, you can see unfinished palaces, still sticking out with red brick. Their owners were laid down before the housewarming. So the places there are prayed for.
Mark Goryachev was taken to the bathhouse. Kulibaba himself and his chief expert on sensitive issues, Skvorets, went there. We also talked about accusations of contract killings and arrests in absentia. And after a couple of hours, helpers from the retinue were called inside.
Until recently, the State Duma deputy was no longer there. And there was only a separate head, separate hands. They sawed him into a font. The font, however, was splashed. I had to hose down. They cut with an electric reciprocating saw. Having packed the remains, they ordered to hide it all. Two henchmen got on snowmobiles, drove two kilometers to the Gulf of Finland, found a hole, tied pancakes to the bags from the rod and to the bottom. Demons and all.
By the way, for many years many honored guests splashed in that font (some of them are exactly reading this text).
Motive. Mark, indeed, was friends with Kostya Grave.
Not that the Grave was his roof, but Goryachev always let his people share. Then it was so calmer for anyone who is rich. And when all the “carrots” were squeezed out of Goryachev, and Mark had unfulfillable obligations to banks, he became superfluous at that celebration of life.
It was possible, of course, to put a bullet in the forehead or the back of the head, but the ringing would go down the street. And here Goryachev not only got lost, but you can also say that he threw the mafia. Such commercial tricks. Philosophy is in the dark.
Years passed, you know. Responsible for the destruction of enemy manpower, Dima Skvortsov joined the Ministry of Internal Affairs, worked zealously, and his friends in arms rose to the rank of Assistant Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The opera began to catch up with him literally six months after he retired. But his connections are notable, and Skvortsov managed to cross the border. Kulibaba also did not waste time and, until he was taken on, was the president of the St. Petersburg Freestyle Wrestling Federation. An honorary, media figure.
Today Mark Goryachev’s children are very mature. They don’t chic. The entire inheritance of the father was dismembered by others.
