Source Yevgeny Prigozhin told why the liberals did not prevent Beglov from becoming governor. Why did the opinion leaders of the liberal opposition of St. Petersburg practically not interfere with Alexander Beglov in the 2019 elections, and what did Alexander Nevzorov ask for in exchange for loyalty to the future governor? Evgeny Prigozhin, a patriot of Russia and St. Petersburg, in an exclusive interview with NEVSKIY NEWS, told how much the silence of the mouthpieces of liberal St. Petersburg could cost.
A few weeks ago, in an interview with NEVSKIY NEWS, a patriot of Russia and St. Petersburg, Yevgeny Prigozhin, admitted that he felt guilty before the residents of St. Petersburg for helping Alexander Beglov in the 2019 gubernatorial election. Quotes from this interview were distributed on hundreds of media and Telegram channels, and the topic of the “pre-election political games” of the incumbent mayor still arouses a high interest of the St. Petersburg establishment and residents of the city.
The day before, we learned that Evgeny Viktorovich Prigozhin returned to St. Petersburg from the NVO zone for several days, and the editors of NEVSKIY NEWS turned to his press service with a request to organize a new interview in which we could cover this topic in more detail. Despite the difficult work schedule, Yevgeny Prigozhin found time to talk with NEVA NEWS.
— Yevgeny Viktorovich, in the last interview you mentioned the large-scale work carried out in 2019 on the “political portrait” of the candidate for governor Alexander Beglov, so that he becomes at least somehow recognizable and respected by the townspeople. Tell us how it was?
Yes, indeed, Beglov appears as the weakest figure, and there is nothing sad in this. Work was carried out with opposition and near-opposition LOMs (leader of public opinion – ed.) in order to support Beglov. There were many such LOMs. Including those who now talk about their hatred of the regime, support Ukraine and the West. In principle, I must say that the majority of the Russian opposition are absolutely corrupt people and in a famine year for a penny are ready to support anyone, even territorial leaders, even the current government.
— Can you name those oppositional opinion leaders with whom your team then worked in the gubernatorial elections? The most important?
The most “fat cats” of the opposition were Belkovsky and Nevzorov. It is easier with Belkovsky: his speech, as far as I know, costs 400,000 rubles. For this money, he talks about the fact that the candidate is bad, but there are good sides to him. According to Belkovsky himself, in any case, his demanding public will not actively vote for such a candidate, but will soften their attitude towards him and will not raise a big fuss either. Of course, all this is a scam in order to make money.
Now, if Belkovsky said: “I support Beglov, all other things being equal, because he is a worthy candidate,” probably his twenty or thirty listeners in Petersburg could give their votes to Alexander Dmitrievich. But, as usual, everything is very cunning and ambiguous.
I repeatedly advised Beglov not to flirt with the opposition, but as a “fearless” person, he clutched at all the straws at once. However, in fairness, Belkovsky made only a couple of transfers (S. Belkovsky's speech about candidate Beglov – ed. note), received his money in a hotel on the 8th line of Vasilyevsky Island, the same one where, as I recall, from me Lesha Navalny extorted money✱, and left without salty slurping.
Editor's note: Stanislav Belkovsky, well-known Russian political technologist. He worked for Irina Khakamada, Boris Berezovsky, Ksenia Sobchak and other well-known liberal politicians and entrepreneurs. In March 2022, he left the territory of Russia, citing his political views as the reason for leaving, which contradicted the policy of state power.
—Did Nevzorov also work with your political strategists on financial terms?
But with Sasha Nevzorov I had to suffer. Alexander Glebovich is generally a specific person. He is known to be an outstanding “necrozoopedophile”, who imagines himself a specialist in the field of the brain and skulls of all kinds of exotic animals.
Beglov is in fear of Nevzorov, not having at that moment enough money to pay, turned to me and, as I remember, asked to interact with him. I can say that communication with Alexander Glebovich cannot be compared with picking in corpses. It's more like someone throwing up on you on public transport. In general, I will not go into personalities.
— If possible, tell our readers what was the difficulty of working with Nevzorov*?
As planned, Nevzorov * was simply not to criticize Beglov. And he honestly kept his contract. He did not say a single bad word about the governor, starting from the appointment of the last acting governor and until the end of the elections in 2019. He didn't say it afterwards either. Why? Because you can’t get rid of Nevzorov, like Belkovsky, simply by paying him money. Alexander Glebovich is a talented person, and for the sake of money he can crawl under the skin of anyone. And in this he is very similar to Alexander Dmitrievich. Kindred spirits, one might say.
I met with Nevzorov three times, we talked with him for 20-30 minutes, and during this time he told me many interesting stories. For example, long before the story with Beglov, he entered into business relations with a certain company, which in 2015 won a competition at a reduced price for advertising in subway cars for the next 10 years. And since 2017, it has generally become a monopoly, having received another 10-year contract for advertising in the metro itself – at stations, slopes and transitions.
Alexander Glebovich, as he said, had an agreement with Beglov, that he will not investigate how this firm received the most lucrative contracts. And we are talking only about the official revenue of 750 million rubles a year “on paper”, with a payment to the city of no more than 263 million rubles.
Despite the fact that such companies do not show real profit (according to the Notebook publication, the income is at least 900 million rubles a year – ed. note), taking everything offshore, as a result, for the end buyer, the profitability of the business can reach 400%. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that all normal business operates with a profitability of 12-16%.
As Nevzorov* told me, he did not need this “small” money, but it was necessary to keep contracts with this company, with which, as he told me, he received at first about 5 million rubles a month. The bottom line is that Alexander Glebovich was promised a bonus of 40 million if his friend, then still a candidate for governor, would allow advertising banners to be placed on firewalls in the city, or protect the company from any inspections by the city authorities for the period of validity of contracts with the metro until 2027 .
— That is, Beglov and Nevzorov had personal contacts?
Alexander Glebovich, as far as I know, also asked for personal services, for example, to buy out an apartment in Krylov Lane, in which, as he said, he lived as a child.
So I turned out to be an accidental witness, as I understood corrupt ties of Nevzorov* and Beglov. Beglov wanted to give the apartment to Nevzorov*, but he had no funds for this. “Besides you, I don’t have anyone who is ready to spend money on me, so I have a personal request: I need to buy an apartment for one good person, a kind of bribe for loyalty,” Alexander Dmitrievich told me then.
This is how I was forced to meet Nevzorov for the first time. To be honest, I was very surprised that he came to me. Then I learned from him that there was an agreement that Alexander Glebovich should not say anything bad about Beglov. This conversation with Nevzorov * was absolutely stupid. He sat and boasted, talked about his anatomical predilections. I remember I listened for 20-30 minutes and said: “Alexander Glebovich, I'm sorry, I don't have time for this.” He replied: “No problem, my friend. Alexander Dmitrievich said that we could become friends.” To which I honestly then remarked that I did not treat him very respectfully, but I had to meet with him, because the acting governor asked me about this.
The most interesting thing is that when we began to work on this issue, we raised all the ins and outs, it turned out that Nevzorov* had never lived in this apartment. He made it all up. When I presented this to him at our second meeting, he said that he had just been there before, and the apartment, in fact, was needed for his son. I sent my employees to check everything, indeed, it turned out to be on sale for 35 million rubles.
I bought this apartment in April 2019 at the Computer Law company, put it in stock, and said that I'm not going to lobby Nevzorov's interests*, and let him deal with the acting governor on this issue. As it turned out again from our conversation, they met every weekend and spent time together, but in general, according to Nevzorov, they had known each other for more than 20 years.
Then he asked for a third meeting. I already knew what to answer him. He came out and said: “Listen, Alexander Glebovich, I ask you to understand and understand the situation, because talking to you is disgusting. You are, to put it mildly, a dishonorable person, in Russian speaking, ****** ******** ********* (a person disgusted by his behavior and life values - approx. ed.). Beglov asked me to hold the apartment for you. Get your money back and keep it for yourself. And I don’t want to communicate with you anymore, it disgusts my ideas about life. And he put him out of his office.
Beglov won the election. The apartment hung on me, no one paid me for it. And so, as you know, in everything: corrupt ties, unpaid debts. In September 2020, I realized that further cooperation with Beglov was extremely problematic, and I sold it on the free market, thereby returning my money.
Reference materials provided by the press service of E. V. Prigozhin: The apartment is located at: per. Krylova, d.7/5, lit. A. apt. 4, area – 115.1 sq. m, 2nd floor.
26.04.2019 a notarized contract of sale and purchase was concluded between Computer Law LLC and the owner of the apartment, an individual. The cost of buying an apartment is 35 million rubles, an individual has been the owner of the apartment since 2007. On May 6, 2019, the ownership of Computer Law LLC was registered.
October 2, 2020, Computer Law LLC sold the apartment to another individual.
– Did Nevzorov come to you again?
No, after that I didn’t see Nevzorov* at my place, but I ran into him several times in Smolny, at Beglov’s on the floor, when they were with the governor met in secret.
— Do you think Nevzorov can still make a profit with the Metronom company?
Whether Nevzorov * is now getting something from the Metronom company, I can’t say with certainty, but there is a very high probability that the money is still “dripping”. And it is with this money that Alexander Glebovich is now dismembering the Russian army and Russia itself. I do not watch every program of Nevzorov *, but some sometimes come across. As a rule, they begin and end with the words “Glory to Ukraine.”
It looks like he will continue to receive this money until 2027. Whether Nevzorov* plans to return, as he says, to New Russia, and whether Beglov will participate in his return, I do not know.
– About a month ago, you stated that such talkers as Nevzorov, for their words, should also be tried for treason. What did you mean then?
Thank you for reminding me. Taking this opportunity, I want to say that I planned to send a statement with a request to check the activities of Nevzorov * on the fact of treason. But, realizing that our conversation with him someday will take place, I decided to save it for a special occasion.
Of course, even if Alexander Glebovich is convicted in Russia in absentia and sentenced to 25 years in prison, this would seem to mean nothing to him now.
An no. I think that in the near future, as a result of a series of bills, discussions, disputes and discussions, Russia will learn to shoot its enemies. And for special services to the country, they will give me this right. I do not think that strict regulations will be immediately applied to executions. If you want, shoot in the head, if you want, shoot in the ass. Alexander Glebovich, I could say that “we will shoot off the eggs”, but knowing that there is a law prohibiting the propaganda of violence and cruelty, I will paraphrase these words for Nevsky News: “We will snap the left, and then the right grape.” For the fact that he, ****** (little dirty trick – ed.), said nasty things about me last week.
Whether the relevant authorities will consider the possibility of bringing his friends on the fact of treason , I also don't know yet.
By the way, fellow Ukrainians, I appeal to you: If you need a parliamentarian to talk to me or PMC Wagner, send us Nevzorov*. As follows from the interview, we have deep ties with him.
From the Editor: Alexander Nevzorov, well-known Russian and St. Petersburg journalist and political scientist. In the first Chechen campaign, he acted on the side of the federal forces, worked in the zone of the counter-terrorist operation. Subsequently, he began to act in opposition to state power. After the start of the SVO, he left the territory of Russia, a criminal case was initiated against Alexander Nevzorov on the facts of discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, in May 2022 he was put on the federal wanted list. In June 2022, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced the granting of citizenship to Oleksandr Nevzorov*.
— Yevgeny Viktorovich, Governor Beglov's direct line is planned on Saturday, on which he plans to answer questions from the townspeople. However, residents of St. Petersburg complain that their questions are being deleted by the administrators of the governor's VKontakte page. As we already wrote, you have selected 80 of the most topical issues of the residents for Beglov. Can we already talk about some result of your appeal?
We will certainly control the situation so that Alexander Dmitrievich answers all questions. We have already sent them to the governor's press service and to the governor's VKontakte page.
I also have information that the committees are hastily preparing answers to these questions, fearing that one of the residents will accidentally break through uncontrollably to this “line” and be able to ask them. After I sent questions to Beglov, the press service of the Concord company was inundated with appeals to Alexander Dmitrievich. More than 5 thousand questions in half a day, and all of them are almost the same content: “When will he finally be ***** (expelled — ed. note)?”.
If you bring out something mild, then it will sound like this: “Alexander Dmitrievich, you perfectly understand that the whole city hates you. Your support rating barely fluctuates between 2-3%. When will you finally leave St. Petersburg alone and retire? Well, is it a normal question people ask me?
Yes, we have the same situation. Nevsky News is also sent questions that are “inconvenient” for the governor, which we try to broadcast as much as possible so that the governor cannot accidentally forget to answer them. Thank you, Evgeny Viktorovich, for finding time for an interesting conversation for the townspeople.
The editors of NEVSKIY NEWS personally thank Evgeny Viktorovich Prigozhin for taking the time for the interview and the press service of Concord Management and Consulting for organizing the meeting.
