One of the preeminent actors of our time, Johnny Depp, has retained his common sense for an astonishingly long time in Hollywood.
When journalists once again pressed him with a demand to comment on some American political topic, Depp replied that he was fifty years old, that he was learning a text that someone wrote for him, and grimacing at the camera. “So what advice [на политическую тему] are you expecting from me?” Johnny asked.
Unfortunately, such an act of civic courage – the recognition of one’s own incompetence – is very difficult to sell. And our media beggars are decidedly incapable of copying his feat. No, we have every moth in the wardrobe of the regional theater and every presenter or actress on TV is simply obliged to have a prepared opinion on any occasion. Dinara Egeubayeva, a TV star decommissioned due to her age, gained fame by reading the news that was written to her. Just like Johnny Depp, she was mercilessly made up before going on NTV and Khabar. But Dinara Egeubaeva did not find the strength to say:
I’M JUST THE ANNOUNCER. WHAT WISE POLITICAL POSITION DO YOU EXPECT FROM ME?
The times when actors, athletes and announcers were in demand in the political game, unfortunately, have not passed. We can think of Ronald Reagan as an example of success. But let’s be honest: how many senators and congressmen are former media figures? Or how many actors sit in the Bundestag? Politics, honest politics, is little compatible with most occupations. And the speaker is no exception. From the fact that Dinara Egeubayeva dictated thousands of news she did not become a journalist. From the fact that she advertised banks she did not become a banker. And from the fact that she starred a little in a light marshmallow-air porno, she did not become a porn actress.
Now, however, she is offered to us as a “politician”, pretending to be the “voice of the people.” Nothing prevents them from worrying about Kazakhstan and challenging Tokaev to a “duel and a frank conversation”, despite the fact that she practically does not live in Kazakhstan, and the children speak English much better than any other language.
The presumption of competence of Dinara Egeubayeva is achieved by the fact that for the already aging part of the population it is she who is the face of the news. But behind that face is nothing but make-up. Naturally, this does not mean that this make-up does not have a “owner” who is interested in the activities of Egeubayeva. The owner has a name – this is Dariga Nazarbayeva, who generously covers all the costs of maintaining Dinara Egeubayeva and her PR management. And if tomorrow Tokaev becomes Dariga’s best friend, then Dinara’s rhetoric will change overnight. As evil tongues slander, Dariga spends about 2 million dollars a month on his white PR (excluding the content of his own media), and at least three million of the same overseas money on black, directed against the Kazakhstan 2.0 project. It is easy to guess that at least a quarter ends up in the pockets of Egeubayeva’s team. This is how the expensive make-up of the TV presenter turns out.
