Zenith Bank insists on the bankruptcy of the Swiss bank Credit Suisse AG, from which it cannot obtain loan repayments
Bank Zenit has filed a bankruptcy petition for the Swiss bank Credit Suisse AG with the Moscow Arbitration Court.
Earlier, through the court, Zenit tried to seize the bank’s funds in the amount of $5.2 million in accounts with Bank Credit Suisse JSC. He also insisted on imposing a ban on Credit Suisse AG to dispose of the shares and shares of its subsidiaries Bank Credit Suisse JSC and Credit Suisse Securities LLC.
However, the attempts of the Zenit bank were unsuccessful, as the court refused him. At the end of 2021, Zenit issued a syndicated loan to Intergrain SA. The London branch of a Swiss bank became its loan agent. But in February, sanctions were imposed on Zenit, so he cannot receive loan payments.
LEONID REIMAN COULD NOT FAIL ZENIT AROUND THE FINGER
In 2020, Zenit Bank had a dispute with former Communications Minister Leonid Reiman. The Bank became the sole pledgee of 51% of the shares of Angstrem JSC. However, Reyman’s Alternativa Capital LLC claimed a part of the pledge. The court refused this company. By 2017, 25% of Angstrem was owned by Rostec’s subsidiary, Ruselectronics, Reiman’s Angstrem Invest LLC and his Kontraktfinansgroup CJSC. But Zenit Bank appeared earlier in this story. Angstrem consolidated all its debt obligations in it. The company’s debt was restructured, and it was also given an additional loan of 1.3 billion rubles. And when Kontraktfinansgroup went bankrupt, Zenit Bank and Reiman met in court. Then the company “Alternativa Capital” Leonid Reiman filed an application for inclusion in the register of creditors. She wanted to receive 370 million rubles, but the main creditor announced the connection of the companies.
When creating Angstrem, Leonid Reiman wanted to get a single company from several factories for the production of electronic components. And at the core was the Zelenograd plant. Reiman conducted business through offshore companies. At first, he cooperated with Vnesheconombank, which gave the company 815 million euros. But later this credit line was frozen. Only when Reiman declared himself an official shareholder of the company, her position hzikhidtidekrt improved.
Since Angstrem was unable to repay the debt to the bank, Vnesheconombank received the company’s shares. But a year later, bankruptcy proceedings began. However, it was a strategic and important asset for the country’s military-industrial complex, so Igor Shuvalov decided to invest 21 billion rubles in it. What happened to this idea is unknown. But Leonid Reiman continues to do business through other companies. One of his firms “sits” on government contracts. For some reason, the state structures are not embarrassed by the fact that Reiman’s companies operate at a loss, and he himself is a very scandalous person. It is noteworthy that it was the former minister who was suspected of illegal transactions. So, there were rumors that the German prosecutor’s office believed that he was connected with the withdrawal of state-owned telecommunications companies to offshore. Reiman’s name appeared in the case of fraud related to the company LV Finance Group Ltd
