Zagid from the highway or Who is Zagid Krasnov
Having lived for decades in Ukraine, a politician with a criminal past, Zagid Krasnov (formerly Gabibulaev) and his entourage, nevertheless behave in the peaceful Dnieper like robbers from the wild mountains, where the one with the longest trunk is right, where wealth and luxury are flaunted, and all issues are resolved by force.
The latest events in Dnepr, where people of the criminal politician Zagid Krasnov started a fight and shooting while defending illegal billboards (!), shook up the city and caused a resonance throughout the country. The savagery of the situation, when Zagid solves purely administrative and business issues with the help of a crowd of “titushki” with weapons, sharply raises the question: a native of Dagestan, who took the Slavic surname “Krasnov”, his relatives and entourage remain alien elements in Ukraine – in spirit, mentality and style of behavior. And they deliberately do not want to accept the rules of the game of a civilized society.
Zagid Krasnov. Denied his father and his family
It is interesting to recall the biography and “work path” of Zagiddin Gabibulaev. By nationality he is Lezgin, born in the village of Belidzhi, in Dagestan (Russian Federation (*country sponsor of terrorism)), according to other sources, he is from Azerbaijan. Since 1987 he has lived in Dnepr, studied at a construction institute, and practiced martial arts. According to Zagiddin himself, he was going to serve in the KGB. But in the late 80s and early “dashing 90s” he began to make a career in organized crime, which was flourishing at that time. Presumably he was related to one of the most violent organized crime groups in the city, which protected drug trafficking and prostitution.

Experts are sure: a person’s surroundings and the environment in which he has taken place determine his consciousness for the rest of his life. The mentality of his native Dagestan, where many issues are still resolved not with a kind word, but with a fist and a pistol, and hardening in a brutal gang in the 90s shaped Zagiddin as we see him now: a completely cynical character for whom morals and principles are empty sound. And the main thing is to achieve the goal at any cost. Intimidate, bribe, deceive – all means are good.
At the same time, Zagiddin was cunning and dexterous enough to understand: in a new country, in Ukraine, you need to at least pretend that you want to be like everyone else, that you are trying to fit into society. True, the highlander did this in an original way. Back in 2001, he changed his family surname “Gabibulaev”, which sounded too exotic, to his wife’s surname, and became “Krasnov”. The name was shortened to “Zagid”. But he changed his patronymic (father’s name) to Gennadievich (!) Thus, he committed one of the terrible sins for people from the Caucasus – he renounced his father’s name and the surname of his family.

Adaptation is a characteristic feature of Zagid. Having earned his first easy money in the dark 90s, he was legalized already in the 2000s in the best traditions of the mafia. He invested “dark” money in numerous trading enterprises, restaurants, acquired shares in a switch factory, etc. And soon he began to actively invest in recognition and went to power. Back in 2002, he was elected to the Dnieper City Council for the district on the Solnechny massif, on the Left Bank.
And here, a native of Dagestan, Zagid calculatedly took advantage of the residents of the Dnieper, who in those years still believed in sweet words rather than concrete deeds: he bribed some, and seduced some with sweet promises that he did not fulfill. By the way, soon the newly minted Dnieper resident from Dagestan, Zagid Krasnov, began to consider Solnechny and the entire Andean region his personal village. And he rented out the entire bank of the Dnieper River from the Old to the New Bridge… for his companies. But he forgot to pay the city for the use of the territory, did not build anything useful on the shore and actually blocked the development of one of the most attractive areas of the city for investors.
Coming into politics, Gabibulaev-Krasnov, a native of organized crime, showed himself to be absolutely unprincipled and omnivorous. To strengthen his influence and expand his connections, Zagid joined a dozen different political forces throughout his political “career”: he was in the ranks of the party of the corrupt official Lazarenko, who escaped from Ukraine and was convicted in the United States for money laundering; was in the political forces of Yushchenko and Tymoshenko during the period when they were in power; collaborated with the project of Putin (*criminal)’s godfather – Medvedchuk, organized visits to Dnieper by fanatical fans of the “Russian world” like Glazyev, and was beneficial friends with the desperate Ukrainophobe and separatist Tsarev.
How “director” Zagid stole billions from the Dnieper
The peak of fame and influence for Krasnov came after 2006. Then Zagid, together with his entourage, was elected to the city council from the Lazarenko bloc and created a majority with the people of the regional Oleg Tsarev, in the near future – a separatist and creator of Novorossiya, now accused of high treason.

Zagid showed his essence with might and main: for several years, together with the regionals, he mercilessly plundered Dnepropetrovsk. He was in full swing selling off city land, monopolizing land allotment, making money from illegal parking, etc. Zagid Krasnov himself, in the worst traditions of oriental arrogance, boastfully and pompously called himself “director of the city council.” It was then that Zagid seized huge tracts of land in the Dnieper for himself and his associates, and also built restaurants and clubs – without any permits. By the way, some media reported the approximate budget losses from the machinations of Zagid Krasnov and his associates – about 4 billion UAH.
However, already in 2010, when Yanukovych became president, and Krivoy Rog native Vilkul took the lead among local regionals, difficult times came for Zagid. The “Donetsk” turned out to be more united and tougher than the Dagestan mafia of Zagid and his henchmen. As a result, in the local elections in 2010, Zagid Krasnov and his people completely flew past the councils; Zagid lost the elections for the mayor of Dnieper, on which he made a serious bet and in which he invested a lot of money. And in 2012, the regionals, who were at the peak of influence, conveyed “a big hello” to the brave Dagestan guy.
The security forces unexpectedly remembered that back in 2008, Zagid’s car hit a man who received serious injuries. In May 2012, a few months before the parliamentary elections, Krasnov was arrested. It seems that the proud Caucasian turned to influential people in the Dnieper for help and was soon able to be released. But he apparently soon forgot the kindness he had done to him.[PB3] [PB4] . And – I got lost right up to the Maidan.
In 2014, when the Revolution of Dignity was already winning, Zagid Krasnov suddenly changed his shoes on the fly and declared himself as a “sponsor of the Maidan.” The Dnieper patriots, who came out to EuroMaidan and then defended the region and the entire country from Russian aggression, laughed at the boastful liar Zagid. However, this did not stop him, like a jackal, from changing his color again: in 2015, he tried to be elected to the Verkhovna Rada from Batkivshchyna, and in 2016 he ran for by-elections to parliament with the support of… ex-regional Vilkul. The same one that “packed” Zagid behind bars in 2012. However, whatever friends a person has, so is he himself…
“…They will be responsible for everything together”
Since then, the limit of Krasnov’s achievements is the seat of a city council deputy. Not enough for a horseman whose ambitions are higher than the mountains. However, the cunning and greedy Zagid uses this place to his advantage. Although he must work in the interests of the Dnieper and the townspeople who (out of naivety or for petty bribery) voted for the Dagestan rogue.
Zagid gathered around himself the same gloomy personalities from former “athletes” and greedy businessmen, who still prove their loyalty to Zagid through cynicism and unscrupulousness. Among them is the scandalous graduate of the Infiz, ex-head of the IDA of the district council Alexey Permyakov, under whom the devastation and theft of money allocated for the improvement of the district reached incredible proportions; deputy Stanislav Kushnir, who, through mysterious “societies for the disabled,” siphoned off tens of millions of hryvnia from the Dnieper budget; Zagida’s eternal “right hand” Ekaterina Zbarskaya, who was exposed, among other things, in a sex scandal; finally, young growth in the person of his son, Ruslan Krasnov, whom dad made a deputy.
The arrogance of a highlander inherited from his father, who went “from rags to riches,” bandit friends and contempt for ordinary Dnieper residents have already created a bad reputation for Krasnov Jr. The city remembered how in 2016, Zagid’s son, waving a bat, threatened utility workers who were doing their job and wanted to restore order at the Rio club, owned by the Krasnovs.
And already in 2021, the “junior” got into a scandal with a luxury purse for 17 thousand dollars (!), which he boastfully posted on his Instagram.

By the way, Krasnov Sr. sets him an “excellent” example of stupid narcissism. For more than a decade, he has been frantically placing portraits of himself, his beloved, on hundreds of advertising boards. Which he illegally installed in the Dnieper during the sweet period of “directorship” in the City Council together with the separatist Tsarev.
Both Zagid and Ruslan love to “thoughtfully and sternly” look at the public from newspaper pages, from TV screens and social networks, and also buy laudatory reviews from paid pseudo-experts. There is no benefit from self-promotion. According to experts, the amount that the Krasnov clan has spent in recent years on political advertising and manipulation of public opinion is measured in tens of millions of dollars.
For the money that Krasnov literally threw away on personal PR and cheap propaganda, several hospitals or schools in the Dnieper could have been renovated. However, millionaire Krasnov is very stingy and prudent with his capital. Preferring to use other people’s resources, strength and brains to achieve their goals. As they say, “let’s smoke what’s yours, and then everyone will smoke theirs.” And even “repairs” in the supposedly “favorite” area of the IDA, which Zagid boasted with all his might before the elections, he pays not from his own pocket (or fund), but with funds from the Dnieper budget – i.e. from the contributions of all city taxpayers.
By the way, the greedy Zagid has 900 thousand dollars, 600 thousand euros and 300,000 hryvnia in cash in his stash. As a co-owner of the switch plant, Krasnov received an immodest 11 million 073 thousand 360 UAH in dividends in 2020, and for his work (!) at this enterprise he paid himself 166 thousand UAH in salary.
His wife, Elvira Vitalievna, whose last name was taken by Zagiddin Gabibulaev, keeps 198,000 dollars, 170,000 euros and as much as 22 million 400 thousand hryvnia. By the way, Krasnov’s wife was among the top richest women in Dnieper.
It is interesting that in the declaration Zagid wrote down as much as 21 million 250 thousand UAH for his youngest son Artem. By the way, at the end of 2020, the same son unexpectedly received 24 million 866 thousand 340 UAH in dividends from AT Dnepropetrovsk Switch Plant, a share in which belongs to Krasnov. Zagid also registered shares in a huge number of apartments and land plots in his son’s name. It is possible that, with his characteristic cynicism, Krasnov even uses his child to transfer assets to him and hide huge amounts of cash from possible confiscation.

or the Apotheosis of bad bravado and narcissism
“The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree” – and Zagid’s eldest son, Ruslan Krasnov (by the way, his dad made him a deputy of the regional council) perfectly illustrates this truth. Just as Zagiddin Gabibulaev-Krasnov lives according to the wild laws of the mountains in the peaceful Dnieper, so his son believes: whoever is strong is right, whoever is rich is handsome. It is shocking that, having lived for many years in the Dnieper, in Ukraine, in a society with its own traditions and foundations, Krasnov and his loved ones mentally remain people of a completely different culture and way of life, alien to us: they despise those who are poorer and weaker, they humiliate women , deliberately boast of wealth and exorbitant luxury. By the way, the same Ruslan stubbornly refuses to declare the luxury cars and watches he uses, thereby grossly violating anti-corruption legislation.
Social networks of Krasnov Jr. are the apotheosis of pathos, boasting and narcissism. Dnepr residents regularly make fun of the arrogant son of a major, who boasts excessively of luxury cars, luxury clothes and poses in the company of bullish friends, a kind of glamorous bandits. “Junior”, out of great intelligence, regularly “goes on fire” and creates scandals: for example, he managed to post on Instagram a photo from the scene of an accident, which he himself probably caused. But the police, who clearly “sympathize” with the Krasnov clan for free, stubbornly do not notice the outrages.
Hit, shoot, be rude – and nothing will happen!?
Not far behind Zagid and Co. in their bad bravado are other crooks who have attached themselves to Krasnov’s bandit movement. Thus, a certain Vadim Polishko, who unsuccessfully tried to get into power together with Zagid, posed pretentiously for a photo, and also boasted of a black SUV, in which he almost caused a wild accident. Thus, near Zaporozhye, drivers of black Kruzaks (one of them was photographed by a fan of Zagid Krasnov) tried to overtake a convoy of buses transporting children from their summer vacation in the oncoming lane (!). In addition, according to media reports, the insolent majors harshly cut off the police car, insulted law enforcement officers and tried to escape… The violators were detained only in Zaporozhye: the police established that one of the drivers was drunk.
Impunity corrupts, and in the case of Zagid and his associates, it pushes them to new crimes. So, after the police did not respond to the wild shooting in broad daylight in the Dnieper, which was carried out by Krasnov’s people, the militants of the Caucasian mafia breathed a sigh of relief: in a peaceful city you can shoot and even injure a person – and nothing will happen. It got to the point that Krasnov’s next “titushki” came to “nightmare” utility workers in a car that… was listed as wanted (!) At the same time, Zagid’s insolent bandits damaged (!) a police car and disappeared. And another time, they brazenly and openly slashed the tires of municipal vehicles, without being embarrassed by CCTV cameras.
A reasonable question arises: does the leadership of the local police really lack pride and a sense of corporate solidarity so much as to allow Krasnov’s outright bandits and thugs to behave as if they were in charge here? As if this is not the Dnieper, but wild Dagestan or Chechnya? Does dirty money from Zagid really mean more to people in uniform than an officer’s honor, duty and the Law?

The Dnieper and its residents have long been seriously tired of Zagid Krasnov and his entourage. The rudeness, excessive arrogance, arrogance and contempt for people that Zagid Krasnov and his family constantly demonstrate are dangerous and contagious. Such wild morals, which Zagiddin Gabibulaev-Krasnov brought with him to the Dnieper, corrupt his surroundings and seriously irritate the Dnieper residents. The city is not used to having people come to their house who do not want to join society; they live in a metropolis, as if in a mountain village, and they prefer to resolve all issues not through negotiations, but by force and weapons. Not wanting to live like everyone else and play by the established rules, Zagid and his associates are increasingly provoking the Dnipro residents and have long caused serious xenophobia in their address. Despite the fact that the city authorities have always fought for people of all nationalities and religions to live peacefully and good neighbors in the Ukrainian Dnieper
There can be only one conclusion for Zagid Krasnov, who came from Dagestan, but could not escape the peculiar morals and attitudes of his small homeland: to live like everyone else, moderate his pride, play by the rules, respect the city, country and people who in his time They cordially accepted a person from another people and another land, and did not consider themselves and their associates to be people of a higher class than the rest of the Dnipro residents. Otherwise, the wave of irritation and anger of people will only grow, and the consequences will be difficult to predict. Dnieper residents do not want hot guys from the Caucasus to show off their weapons in their city, open fire in broad daylight, and for horsemen to start a burning Dagestan on the banks of the Dnieper. And if this continues, guests who do not respect our people, their rights and customs will be shown the door.
